Zoya Arizona & Elemental Styles Neon Lights

Sun
Hello!  How was everyone's Tuesday?  Today I have a bright, summery mani for you.  This is three coats of Zoya Arizona and two-ish coats of Elemental Styles Neon Lights, over Arizona, as an accent.  These polishes were made for each other.  Not gonna lie, Arizona, was a hot streaky mess for the first two coats.  The third evened it out pretty well but I still think I can see a bit of VNL.  The color is so cool though.  I honestly don't own another orange quite like it.  Neon Lights is a mix of yellow and pink matte glitters. The effect is that it looks very orange.  I used one coat of Gelous and then one coat of HK Girl topcoat to smooth it out.  You can check out the Elemental Styles etsy shop here.  Whitney makes great polishes and has fantastic customer service.

So have you started to transition into fall nail colors yet or are you still holding on to summer?  I live in AZ so it's sunny all the time here.  It'll be a while before I am regularly pulling out the fall colors.

Have a great night,
Sara

ManGlaze ILF

Sun

Oh my!  Oh my!  Oh my!  You all know that I'm in love with all polishes teal/turquoise/aqua.  Love them!  I've wanted ILF forever.  Ever since the first time I saw it, I've loved it.  I recently participated in a super cool swap and this is one of many cool polishes I recieved.  ManGlaze make the most awesome matte polishes.  The formula is far superior to any other mattes I've tried.  This is two coats of ILF.  I had almost zero clean up with this one.  Originally I wanted to use my stripping tape on my accent nail but I've put it in a safe place as my mom would say, and I can't find it.  So half moon mani it is.  I used Fuggen Ugly for the accent nail.  The combo is awesome!  Even Mr. MLiP thought so and he normally doesn't care.

The last picture is really poor but you can really see the sparkle in Fuggen Ugly.  I just had to show that to you.  I know not everyone loves mattes but I love this combo.  What do you think?

China Glaze Elephant Walk

Hi lacquer lovers!  So it's been a while since I've done any stamping.  I've been wanting to stamp again but didn't have time for a full mani.  This is the result.  Here is China Glaze Elephant Walk, a light gray with a subtle shimmer, and Hang Ten Toes on my accent nail.  Two coats of Elephant Walk was perfectly opaque and the formula was pretty good.  Hang Ten Toes was also two coats but the formula was a touch runnier.  I stamped a chevron pattern on my pink nail using WnW Black Creme, the most perfect stamping black.  Just one picture for you today because it was overcast out and all my photos look the same.  Do you like stamping or totally hate it?  I don't want it on every mani but sometimes it adds a touch of fun.

Take care,
Sara

Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy

Hey all!  Happy Tuesday night!  I love Prince.  I remember my mom listening to Prince when I was a kid and I love listening to it now as an adult.  So I had to have Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy.  I'm not usually a huge purple fan but this is such a cool color.  Let's Go Crazy is a deep, dark purple jelly with multi colored glitter in it.  This is two coats over one coat of Zoya Mira.  I know this can be worn alone but I like the look of it over a purple cream a bit better.  The formula was exactly what you'd expect from a Lippmann glitter, easy peasy.  I found this to be pretty smooth for a glitter but I did put a layer of Gelous over it before my quick dry topcoat because I knew it would help my mani last through two nights at work.

Removal was hard but definitely not the worst I've ever had to take off (cough, Floam, cough).  My favorite DL is Mermaid's Dream but this is a really close second.  What is your favorite Lippmann polish?  Have a great evening!  I'll talk with you soon.

Catrice London's Weather Forecast

Sun

Hey lovelies!  I recently swapped with a lovely lady in the Netherlands.  We've swapped a few times now and every time has been great.  I love Catrice polishes but obviously can't get them here in the US.  I've got a few new Catrice polishes but I'm going to start with the gorgeous London's Weather Forecast.  Love the name so much.  I've always wanted to go to London.  Just seems like such a cool place.  Anyhow on to the gorgeous gray polish.  London's Weather Forecast is a medium gray with a subtle shimmer in it.  This is two coats.  It's almost a one coater but two was just perfect.  My accent nail is Jade Meteorite Showers, a really cool multi colored glitter, two coats.

This is pretty much my perfect gray.  What is your ultimate, favorite gray polish?  Until next time have a great night.

Zoya Rory and KKcenterHK Printing Mode

Shade
Hi Ladies and Gentlemen (there's gotta be at least one right?).  I'm not normally a pink person but I do love foils so I decided to give Zoya Rory a shot.  Oh wow she's so beautiful!  Rory is a bubble gum pink foil polish.  This is two coats but one thicker one would have been fine as well.  On my accent nail I used another printing mode (basically a stencil) from kkcenterhk.com.  Click here to see the one I used on their website.    This was super easy to use.  I just stuck it to my hand a few times to remove some sticky then placed it on the nail.  I used Zoya Trixie to fill in the design.  Then you just peel it up, wait for it to dry some and then topcoat it.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

While Zuza is my favorite from the Zoya Surf collection I think Rory is close behind.  What's your favorite from this collection?

Take care,
Sara

China Glaze Swanky Silk

Shade

Hey guys!  Tonight I have the second polish from the China Glaze Bohemian collection that I promised you.  This is Swanky Silk.  It's a multi chrome that shifts a bit from a rose gold, pink and greenish tint.  Now this color doesn't look fantastic on my pale, ginger skin but it had a great formula and was opaque in two coats.  The angles on some of these pictures are weird again as I was trying to show you the color shift.

Honestly the color shift is hard to see on the nail indoors.  The first picture is the only time I saw that much color change.  Couldn't get it again.  So what do you think?  Are you going to be picking up any of this collection?  Until next time, have great night.

China Glaze Rare & Radiant

Sun

Today I have one of the new China Glaze Bohemian polishes for you.  This is Rare & Radiant, a duochrome with a slight color shift.  Since the finish is metallic there are slight brush strokes but I only really noticed them in direct sunlight.  Two coats made this polish perfectly opaque.  I have a bunch of photos for you and some are at weird angles to try and capture the color shift for you.

So what do you think?  Did anyone besides me notice how this polish matches my background?  No?  Just me?  I have one other to show you in a few days.  Have a great day!

Zoya Kimber & KKcenterHK Printing Mode

Sun

Hey Everyone!  How's it going?  Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Hopefully now that school has started my posting will pick up some.  So today I have a review of the nail printing mode from kkcenterhk.com.  I know it's a weird name but really it's a stencil for your nails.  Here's the link for the ones I used for this manicure.  Basically you paint your nails and make sure they're dry.  I used a quick dry topcoat and just waited a bit.  Then peel the stencil off the paper backing, stick it a few times to your hand to remove some of the sticky and place it on the nail where you would like it.  They come with different sizes to accommodate different nail sizes.

Shade

For this I used three coats of Zoya Kimber, a bright hot pink foil from the Surf Collection.  I still had VNL after two coats.  After that was dry I placed the stencil.  Using Zoya Zuza I painted over it.  Then quickly pull up the decal.  You can see that some of the flower petals are misshapen.  That is completely my fault.  I realized to late that it wasn't stuck down completely.  I did a second flower using  Zoya Trixie that came out much better.  The nail printing modes are one time use but because I'm just using them for accent nails they will last a while.  I will definitely be picking up some more of these soon.  If you order from kkcenterhk use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10% through Jan 31, 2013.  I don't get referral credit or anything I just want you all to save some money.

Have a great day!

Zoya FeiFei

Sun

Happy Saturday!  I've got a quick post for you today featuring Zoya FeiFei.  Zoya describes FeiFei as a steel blue base with gold, blue and pink iridescent metallic sparkles.  There's been a lot of talk about this being similar to Zoya Crystal which I had and swapped away.  I am happy to report that they are very different.  I went shopping the other morning with Janelle from Heartfully, Janelle and she brought her Crystal so we could compare them.  This is two coats of FeiFei and topcoat.  The formula was really great and very easy to control.

Shade
FeiFei is from the newly released Diva collection for fall.  I hope to get a few more from this collection soon.  Do you have a favorite from the new Zoya collections?  Have a great day!
