Different Dimension That Is So Fetch

Good morning!  Quick post for you today because my little guy's 5th birthday is this weekend and I've got to get moving to get all the party stuff done.  Plus add in the end of the soccer season for both boys and doing their pictures on Sunday, we have one busy weekend.  Today I have Different Dimension That is so Fetch for your viewing pleasure.  I recently acquired the purple version of Essie Lilacism and just knew it would be the perfect base for That is so Fetch.  This is two coats over Lilacism.  I'm so in love with this combo.  I got a ton of compliments on it.  The glitter was super easy to use and the formula was great.

Sadly there was no sun the day I took these photos but I just had to show you the pretty, pretty polish.  If you're interested in seeing this or anything else Different Dimension has to offer click here to head over to her etsy shop.  I plan on wearing Doppelgänger this weekend.

Have a great day!

My First Attempt at Fimo

Sun
Hi everyone!  Tonight I have my first attempt with fimo.  I was sent the flower fimo slices from kkcenterhk.com to review.  I wasn't quite sure how to do it, so I decided to wing it.  The fimo came already sliced up because I really didn't want to risk cutting off my fingers.  Click here to see the ones I got.  They are pretty consistantly cut.  Some were a hair thinner than others.  The white one wanted to curl a but because it was so thin.  So I put on a layer of topcoat then placed the slice.  What I didn't know was if I should put a layer of topcoat over it to stick it down more.  If you know how to do this properly please leave me a comment and tell me how.

Sun
The polish I'm wearing is Sation Under the Miss-tletoe.  It's from their new holiday collection.  This is three coats.  It's a little hard to work with because it has a jelly like finish but the formula was a tad thick.  The color is so cool though.  I think next time I may try just two coats over black.

Shade
The jury is still out as to wether or not I actually like fimo.  Feels a little weird with something sticking off my nails.  This is not a reflection on the product itself, just my weirdness.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great night!

Glitzology Island of Misfit Toys

Sun

Good morning!  So as Christmas gets closer my love of all things Rudolph shows more and more.  I adore Rudolph.  Glitzology is a newer indie line and I picked up Island of Misfit Toys during a sale.  When it came in the mail I was wearing Essie Bikini so Teeny and couldn't be bothered with taking it off, so I layered two coats of Island right over top.  I'm so in love!  The formula was great, no digging or dabbing required.  I think when it's closer to Christmas I will try one coat of Island over a red.  Should be awesome :)

Shade
So what do you think?  You should definitely go check out her shop.  Click here to go see all the many, many glitters she has.  Plus she runs sales all the time.  Until next time...

Different Dimension Sparkles Like Edward

Sun

Hello!  Did you miss me?  I'm finally back to normal, well normal for me anyway, and should be back to my somewhat regular posting schedule.  I went and saw Breaking Dawn last night with a friend.  Of course I had to wear Different Dimension Sparkles Like Edward.  I love white polishes with glitter in them.  This one is cool because the white base has a subtle pink shimmer to it.  That said the formula on my bottle was pretty bad.  It took three coats to be opaque and not streaky.  By the time I reached the third coat the polish was really thick.  I'm sure some thinner would help but I would have liked to make it through one mani first.  I put one layer of Gelous and then topcoat.  The end result is really pretty but a little thick looking.

Not my best pictures but there you have it.  Have you seen the movie?  I thought it was pretty good considering it was a Twilight movie.  Have a great evening.

Sparkles by Julie Bubble Gum

Sun

Hey all!  Sorry for the slight disappearance.  I caught strep from Mr. MLiP and then I had a bad reaction to the antibiotic.  Basically all I wanted to do was sit on the couch.  I have a quick post for you today showing Sparkles by Julie Bubble Gum.  Sparkles by Julie is one of my all time favorite indie brands.  Her polishes are very high quality and shipping is super fast.  This is two coats of Bubble Gum.  For the most part my nails were opaque.  There were a few spots that could have used another coat but I couldn't tell when I painted them.  Bubble Gum is a super girly pink with purple, pink and holographic glitters.

So what do you think?  If you'd like to check out Sparkles by Julie's etsy shop click here.  I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving if you're here in the US.  I'll be back with another post in a few days when I'm feeling better.

Zoya Storm

Sun
Good morning!  So most of you know that I really don't like holos.  I've just never really hopped on that band wagon.  However I do really like black polishes, so I had to pick up Storm.  The pictures are all two coats with topcoat.  Storm had an amazing formula.  Super smooth and easy to use.  I did the checkerboard pattern on my accent nail using Zoya Trixie and Carly.  I used stripping tape to make the lines.  The tape didn't want to stay down so the lines aren't perfect but I will be doing this again soon with different tape.  So my photography skills with holos leave something to be desired but I tried my hardest.

I know that's a lot of pictures but I just couldn't decide which to put up.  What do you think?  I really can't wait to do more checkerboards.  Such a fun way to add color to a mani.

Essie Bikini So Teeny

Shade

Every now and again I put on a polish and am completely blown away.  This happened with Essie Bikini So Teeny.  I had passed on this color so many times because I thought it was just another boring blue cream.  I'm happy to say I was so wrong, so very wrong.  I finally picked it up from a blog sale and I'm in love.  Bikini So Teeny has a very subtle shimmer that isn't really noticeable on the nail but it does give this awesome color great depth.  Bikini is a pale blue that manages to be very vibrant.  It does pull a little to the purple side of things.  This is three thin coats.  After two I still had a few patchy spots.

Sun

Sun
Mr. MLiP took the first picture in the shade because the nail decal came out better on my right hand.  I can't operate the camera very well with my left hand.  The decal on my left hand had a bit of an issue.  It folded up on itself when I was putting it on and caused that weird break in the line.  It was completely user error.  I love these water decals from kkcenterhk.com.  I like that they don't stick up like nail stickers.  Here's the link for the decals I used this time.  Don't forget to use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10% if you order from them.

Have you ever passed on a polish repeatedly just to realize that you should have bought it right away?  Have a great day!

OPI The Living Daylights

Good morning lovelies!  Today I have OPI The Living Daylights to show you.  This polish came out really recently.  The OPI James Bond collection has some cool polishes but so far I've only picked up this one and Goldeneye.  I layered The Living Daylights over Essie Mint Candy Apple so you could really see all the different colors in the glitter.  Side note, I hardcore love Mint Candy Apple.  TLD didn't want to spread on my nails so I had to put a drop of polish on the nail then wipe off all the excess base in the bottle then spread the glitter around.  Really was a lot of work.  I like the polish but wish it was easier to put on.

It was weirdly overcast out when I took these photos so the top one was taken in slightly darker light.  I really need someone to make me a light box.  I hope you all enjoyed this combo.  What color would you layer this over?

KBShimmer Shipwreck

Sun
Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a better weekend than I did.  Mr. MLiP has strep so if I'm missing the next few days it's because I've caught it and am not getting off the couch.  For now though I have a quick post showing KBShimmer Shipwreck.  This polish is a blue jelly with different color hexes and a tad of mini copper and gold glitters.  It's super pretty.  I'm pretty sure you can get this opaque with a few more coats than I did but I didn't have the patience for that.  My photos show two coats of Shipwreck over one coat of China Glaze First Mate.  Not only was First Mate the perfect color for this, the names go together so well, First Mate and Shipwreck.  I know, I know, I'm not very funny.

Shade
Shipwreck was really easy to work with.  The glitter distributed very well.  I used one coat of Gelous then topcoat and everything was very smooth.  Do you have any KBShimmer polishes?  What's your favorite?  Have a great night!

A Comparison of Two Pretty Colors

Sun
Good morning!  I have a comparison for you today of Essie Where's My Chauffer and China Glaze Aquadelic.  I love comparison posts.  Really should do them more.  Sadly I don't have a catchy name for my comparison that I haven't seen used yet.  If you have any suggestions send them my way :)

As you can see these are super similar.  The Essie is on my pinky and middle finger.  CG is on my pointer and ring finger.  The Essie is just a shade bluer.  I will say that the formula on Where's My Chauffer is better though.  Since I'm a total sucker for these shades I'll be keeping them both for now even though I know Mr. MLiP would say they were the same.

Shade
I hope this helps some of you.  If you ever have dupe requests please tell me and if I have the color I'd be happy to take some pictures.

Illamasqua Viridian & Sation Band Beauty

Shade
Good morning!  Quickie post for you today of a combo that looks way better in person than it does in these photos.  This is Illamasqua Viridian and Sation Band Beauty.  This is my one and only Illamasqua polish.  The formula was amazing.  This is two effortless coats.  Sadly it didn't wear very well on me.  My accent nail is one coat of Sation Band Beauty.  Sation has made some kick butt glitters lately.  I'm hoping to get to the supply store this week to check out some more.  Maybe a glitter giveaway is in the future :)

Sun
Do you have a favorite Illamasqua polish?  I'd love to know what others to check out.  Have a great Tuesday!

Essie Where's My Chauffer & Beyond Cozy

Sun
Hey all!  This evening I have my actual nail of the day to share with you.  I've had naked nails for a few days after having the MOHs procedure done to remove skin cancer.  I wasn't allowed to wear polish for it.  I really disliked having to go around with my funky, naked nails.  Anyway to perk myself up I went for two Essie polishes from their new winter collection.  Today I have Where's My Chauffer (those that know me had to see this coming) and Beyond Cozy.  Where's My Chauffer is a gorgeous blue leaning turquoise.  I have some similar colors so hopefully I'll be able to get up a comparison for you all.  This is two coats of WMC.  The formula was pretty good.  It wanted to drag a bit so I suggest waiting a few minutes between coats.

Sun
My accent nail is Essie Beyond Cozy.  Not my usual style of polish but for some reason it was calling to me.  I love this so much.  It's a silver and gold glitter.  In the store and inside it leans more gold and outside in the sun it pulls more silver on me.  Mr. MLiP says I'm nuts and it just looks gold all the time.  The formula on this one is fantastic.  This is two coats for full coverage.  It is so sparkly outside.  Can't wait to wear it as a full mani.

Shade
Have you picked up any of the new Essie collection?  I kinda want the blue one still.  Have a great night and I'll talk with you soon.
