China Glaze Pool Party

china glaze pool party

Hello!  Today I have a bright, in your face polish for you.  I love neons and super bright polishes.  Summer collections are usually my favorite.  Although you'll find me in bright polishes all year round.  That may have to do with living in the Phoenix area though.  It's always so freakin sunny here.  Anyway, today I have China Glaze Pool Party, a super bright pink that pulls a little orangey red on me.  It's a neon so it took three coats to even out but I knew going in that neons are a pain in the butt.  I'm still not convinced that texture polishes are for me but I do own a few because I thought they'd be perfect for using with stencils to do simple designs.  My accent nail was done using a stencil from a Kiss Nail Art kit and Zoya Liberty.  I did not put topcoat over Liberty so the design was raised on my nail.

Overall I'm very pleased with this mani.  I will definitely be using more of my textures to do designs with my stencils.  Are you a fan of neons?  My all time favorite neon is China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise.  It's on my toes right now.

Until next time my lovely readers...

*I bought this polish myself when I was supposed to be polish shopping for a secret swap I'm doing.  I snuck this in at the register.  Totally worth it!*

Hit Polish Nail Lacquer Superman

Hey everyone!  I'm sitting here enjoying some peace and quiet because everyone's in bed so I thought I'd write up a post.  Tonight I have Hit Polish Nail Lacquer Superman for you to enjoy.  I know the bottle says D&R Apothecary but that is this brands old name.  Superman is a blue jelly with red, blue and yellow glitters in it.  I think you'd be able to get it opaque in a few coats but I didn't want to wear that much glitter so I layered two coats over OPI No Room for the Blues.  This was a fun mani to wear.  I kept checking out my nails.

Okay so I've shown you Kryptonite and now Superman, both from Hit Polish Nail Lacquer.  Which one is your favorite?  I don't know that I can pick.  I love them both.  Check out Hit Polish on etsy here and on facebook here.  Have a great night and I'll talk with you soon.

Sara

*I bought this polish myself.  I was smart and got a full size, unlike Kryptonite when I only got a mini.*

Barielle Brillant Collection

*PR Sample

Hello my lovely readers!  I hope you are all having a wonderful day.  Other than going to the gym today the boys and I did nothing.  Kinda nice to be able to do that now that All Stars is over.  Today I have the newest Barielle collection to show you.  This is the Brillant collection.  This collection consists of five cream polishes.  Nothing too ground breaking but Barielle makes great creams so I'm happy to be showing them to you.

First up we have Magna Cum Laude Turquoise.  Holy long name!  This is a lovely turquoise cream.  I used two coats when I painted my nails at night.  The next day I realized I could have used three.  All the pictures today have topcoat.  I did not have any staining when I removed this one.  I wore it for a couple days.

Sun

Shade

Next up we have Head of the Class Green.  I love this color so much.  It's a green that leans a little tealish, just a bit.  This is two coats but it was almost perfect in one.  I used Straight A Coral on my accent nail.  I need to mention that when I removed this green it stained my nails and my fingers so bad.  I don't usually have staining problems at all so I was surprised when this happened.  I wear this color family all the time too.

Sun

Shade

Next up is Smarty Pants Pink.  I love that name!  This is a bright pink cream.  It did take three coats to be streak free and even.  I don't own many pinks so I'm glad to have this one.  My accent nail is a water decal in a paisley print.  I love water decals.  They are perfect for people like me that major suck at nail art.

Sun

Shade

Straight A Coral is the next polish today.  This is a juicy coral that pulls pretty pink on me.  This polish took two coats to be perfect.  My accent nail is another water decal.  See?  Perfectly easy nail art.

Sun

Shade

Lastly I have High Marks Purple.  The formula on this one was the best of them all.  You could easily do one coat of this.  I have two on because I bumped a nail and messed it up.

Shade

So there you have it.  Five lovely creams from Barielle.  Again these were sent to me for review and all opinions are honest and 100% mine.  You can purchase these and all the other Barielle polishes or treatments here and give them a like on facebook here to stay up to date on sales and giveaways.  So now I'm curious...Who makes your favorite cream polishes?

Until next time,

Sara

*These polishes were sent to me by the pr company in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are mine.*

Zoya Josie & Hit Polish Kryptonite

zoya josie
Sun

Happy Sunday!  Today I have Zoya Josie from the new summer collection.  Josie is a dusty grass green cream that has the most wonderful formula.  It's exactly what you'd expect from Zoya.  Two coats and it looked perfect.  My accent nail is Hit Polish Nail Lacquer (formerly D&R Apothecary) Kryptonite, a gray jelly base with green and gray glitter, layered over China Glaze Recycle.  I only bought the mini of Kryptonite (what was I thinking?) so I layered it to conserve.  This is my favorite mani of the last few weeks for sure.

Shade
So what do you think?  Before ordering Kryptonite I wouldn't have paired these two colors but now I'm kinda obsessed with green and gray.  If you'd like to check out Hit Polish Nail Lacquer for yourself click here for the etsy shop and here for her facebook page.

Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought both these polishes myself.  I couldn't pass up Zoya's Earth Day promo and Hit Polishes just have this weird way of jumping into my online cart and flying home to me.*

Mentality Vigilance

Mentality Vigilance
Sun
Hey all!  Today I have Mentality Vigilance for your viewing pleasure.  I had high hopes for this polish. It's a great shade of blue but it just fell flat for me once I put it on.  This was my first Mentality polish and I really did want to love it.  The formula was okay.  It took two coats for full coverage.  You can see in the shade picture that there were some weird lumps in the polish.

Shade
I do think this polish would be great for stamping.  I want to try it as a pedicure color as well before I give up on it completely.  Do you have any experience with this brand?  What's your favorite?

Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought this polish myself in a fit of online shopping.  I need to get control of that.  Or get rid of my computer.  Whatever works.*

Essie Naughty Nautical and Sunday Funday

Essie Naughty Nautical Sunday Funday
Sun
Hello everyone!!  Today I have two polishes from the new Essie summer collection that were just made to wear together.  Naughty Nautical is a gorgeous teal with shimmer and Sunday Funday is a great coral with shimmer as well.  I love them both but we all know how I feel about teals so it's definitely my favorite.  The formula on both polishes was really good actually.  Naughty Nautical was almost perfect in one coat.  This mani is two coats with topcoat.  I used my dotting tool to add dots with Naughty to my Sunday Funday accent nail.

Shade
So have you picked up any from this collection yet?  I kinda still want the greenish yellowish one but I know that's not my kinda color.  Since I love teals so much I'd love to know, what is your all time favorite teal polish?  I don't know that I can even answer that question haha.

Until next time my lovelies...

Sara

*I stalked two different Targets for over a week to find these polishes.  Then when I found them Mr. MLiP told me I had to wait to buy them.  Sad times for sure.*

Nicole by OPI Pick of the Glitter

Nicole by OPI Pick of the Glitter
Sun
Hello!  How is everyone tonight (or early morning depending on where you are)?  A while back I was at Target and came across this cool glitter polish by NOPI.  So of course I whipped out my phone and proceeded to google NOPI Pick of the Glitter.  I got zero results.  Not a single picture.  So of course I bought it haha.  Pick of the Glitter is a super cool mix of large gold hexes, medium teal glitters and little copper glitters in a clear base.  It's pretty amazing.  I layered it over Essie She's Picture Perfect.  It was a match made in heaven.  The formula of the glitter was outstanding.

Shade

Shade
This was a fun mani to wear.  I'll definitely be wearing this again.  I know that most people have a love/hate relationship with NOPI?  What do you think of them?

Have a great night!

Sara

*I bought this polish myself.  Glad I took a chance on a polish that I couldn't find a pic of in advance.*

Enchanted As If

Enchanted Polish As If
Sun
Hi everyone!  Today I have a polish to show you that I really wanted to love.  Really I did.  I want to start by saying the formula and application of this polish was spot on.  Hands down one of the easiest polishes I've ever used.  Sadly the color just fell flat on me.  The holo is super sublte and the color looks  bad with my skin.  Then I thought adding an accent nail might help it out.  I was wrong on that too.  The accent is Pop Culture Cosmetics Monster Mash, a new to me indie brand.  Monster Mash has a nude shimmer base with a super cool mix of glitters in it.  The glitters did not want to come out of the bottle.  The first coat of Monster Mash gave me two pieces of glitter.  I do really love the colors though so I'm going to try it again before giving up on it.  I'm thinking it would look really cool over a nude/neutral polish.

I know it's a lot of photos but I really wanted to try and show this off in the best possible way.  I was really sad that I didn't like this.  I'm a huge Clueless fan.  As If has already found a new, loving home.  What's the last polish that you were super excited for but then it let you down?

Until next time...

*I purchased this polish myself.  Restock madness took ahold of me and this polish I don't like was the result.*

Above the Curve Kahuna

Hey all!  How is everyone?  Things around here have been completely insane hence the erratic posting.  My oldest son made the all star baseball team and they are practicing everyday for 3+ hours.  Which means I'm spending all my evenings and nights sitting in the 110 degree heat on the side of a ball field instead of writing up posts for you all.  Anyway today I have Above the Curve Kahuna.  It's a very subtle holo blue.  The formula was good, two coats for perfect coverage.  I added dots using Color Club Eternal Beauty and Barielle Night Moves.  I liked this mani but didn't love it.  Both pictures were taken in slightly overcast conditions so the holo is hard to see.

Sadly Kahuna didn't wear well on me.  It chipped in less than a day using my regular base and topcoats.  What do you think?  Are you a holo lover?  I like the really subtle ones mostly but a good holo pedi is alway fun here where it's so sunny.  I'm going to leave you with one last picture of my all star baseball player.

Isn't he cute?  Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought these polishes myself.  I'm very good at online shopping.  The ball player is all mine too.*

Orly Sparkling Garbage

Sun

Good morning!  Today's super cool polish is Orly Sparkling Garbage.  I'm pretty sure it was a given that I would need to buy a polish called Sparkling Garbage.  The fact that it is a teal base with all sorts of sparkle was just icing on the cake.  I've seen some people try to wear this on its own but I didn't want to wear that many layers.  I decided to put it over one of my all time favorite Orly's, Frisky.  I was so in love with the combo that I wore it for several days and spent those days staring at my nails haha.

Sun
Shade
Check out that sparkle!
So there you have it.  Are you a fan?  Sparkling Garbage does kind of remind me of China Glaze Fairy Dust but with a teal base.  Either way it's so pretty!

Have a great day!

Sara

*I purchased this polish myself because no one in my real life would buy me a polish called Sparkling Garbage.*

An Unfortunate Combo

Sun

Hey all!  Today I have a mani for you that looked so much better in my head haha.  I started with Barielle Do Unto Others, a lovely green that covers great in two coats.  I added Barielle Lemondrops on my accent nail.  Lemondrops took three coats to even out and not be streaky.  It's a bright, bright yellow.  To try and save this weird combo I added D&R Apothecary Sundance to my accent nail.  I love Sundance but it needs a different base color.  You can't see the cool yellow glitters at all.

Shade

So there you have it.  My latest mani failure.  Oh well, can't win them all.  I hope you all have a great day!

Sara

*The Barielle polishes were sent by the pr company in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are mine.*
