Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer 2014

Shade
Hello!  Today I have the most stunning polish from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, 2014.  On the website it's described as an electric periwinkle with iridescent glitters and a blue to purple shift.  I'm gonna run with that since I stink at describing things.  This is three coats with topcoat.

Sun
I feel like my pictures didn't quite capture the true beauty of this polish.  I spent my whole run this morning staring at my nails trying to decide if they were blue or purple.  I'm lucky I didn't jog into the lake.  You can check out Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's shop here and on facebook here.  Have a great day guys!

Until next time...

Sally Hansen Crystalline

Hello!  Today I have two pretty matte finish polishes for your viewing pleasure.  The white is Sally Hansen Satin Glam Crystalline, two coats layered over a plain white polish.  The teal is Sally Hansen Satin Glam Teal Tulle, two coats on its own.  Crystalline is pretty sheer so I definitely recommend layering it.

I really like wearing mattes but since I clean houses they tend not to wear very well for me.  This is gorgeous so I will totally have to wear it again.

Until next time...

Cult Nails NOTD

Sun
Hey guys!  Just a quickie Nail of the Day post.  This is Cult Nails Ms. Conduct with Masquerade layered over top.  Masquerade on it's own is a gorgeous polish but I was curious what would happen if I layered it over Ms. Conduct.  The result was a super pretty mani.

Shade
Enjoy your day and I'll talk with you again soon.

Race Day Nails

Good morning!  Yesterday I (mostly) ran my very first 5K.  This is a super big deal to me because I've never been a runner.  In my efforts to drop some weight I've taken to running and am really beginning to love it.  I participated in The Color Run with my very best friend and one of my little sisters.  Honestly my sister ran more than a 5K because she kept running ahead and then would come back to us.

I knew I wanted really fun nails for this event.  The Blerch is a comic on The Oatmeal about why the artist runs long distances.  It's hilarious and so true for me.  I run because I like feeling strong and empowered yes, but mostly because I like to eat.  If you've never read it you should go check it out.  The Blerch was made for me by a lovely lady in one of my nail facebook groups.  She makes amazing quality glitter toppers for fun.  It's too bad she doesn't have an indie brand.  They are really nice.  So anyway, The Blerch has black stars, green circles and a bunch of holo glitters.  So sparkly!  I layered one coat over Layla Softouch 06 (no idea if this polish has an actual name or not).

I'm still wearing and loving this mani today.  I took a cell phone picture after we were done running but my hands didn't look all colorful and fun like my friends.  I looked like I had been digging in dirt and you don't need to see that.  Here's a shot after we ran.  I'm in the middle.  Sorry for the word heavy post but I'm super proud and excited to have met this goal for myself.

Don't worry about that lost looking child in the background.  He belongs to me :)

Until next time my friends...

Girly Bits Get Weaponized

Hello!  Happy Wednesday everyone.  Today I have a super gorgeous polish from Girly Bits.  This amazingness is Get Weaponized.  Teal holo with little micro glitters.  It's me in a bottle!!  It was smooth and opaque in two coats.  The holo in it is very pretty but I think this is a polish I preferred in the shade and indoors.  I really liked the little purple and pinkish glitters in it.

Shade
Girly Bits really does make some great polishes.  Cosmic Ocean is probably my favorite of the ones I own.  What's your favorite Girly Bits polish?

Until next time...

Picture Polish Siren Song

Sun
Hey guys!  Happy Wednesday everyone.  A few months back I won a giveaway and the prize was to pick one polish from the instock items from Overall Beauty.  Working with Kim from Overall Beauty was a breeze.  Great communication and seriously some of the fastest shipping I've ever encountered.  I chose Picture Polish Siren Song, a pretty minty color with silver glitter in it.  The formula was a little weird.  Like it was thick but thin at the same time.  It was kind of a pain to apply.  It was nice and smooth with a layer of topcoat.

Sun
Kim was awesome enough to send over some other polishes with this one.  I'll be sure to blog about them once I wear them.  On a side note I recently ordered some of Overall Beauty's mineral eye shadows and I seriously love them.  They are smooth and easy to apply.  Plus the price is spot on.  I already have some of the mineral eyeliners in my cart waiting for payday.  Have a great day everyone!

Polish Addict Nail Color Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hey all!  How is everyone?  I spent the day hiking and hanging out with my boys and some friends of ours since there was no school today.  Today I have a really pretty glitter topper from Polish Addict Nail Color, Breakfast at Tiffany's.  It has matte white, matte teal and micro metallic teal glitters.  Yeah I totally stole that description right from the website.  I chose to layer it over two different colors so you can get a complete idea of what it looks like.  I have Orly Frisky and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with one coat of Breakfast at Tiffany's over it.

The glitter went on very smooth.  There was no clumping or bare spots on my nails.  I purchased this polish myself on a little mini buying spree recently.  The owner of PANC, Laura, asked me to swatch it for her so you can see my photo over in her shop.  I get really excited when my photos are used in shops.  If you'd like to check out all the glittery goodness over at PANC click here.  You can also find them on facebook here.  PANC is getting close to launching a bunch of new colors so be sure to give her a like.

Until next time...

NailNation 3000 Smoke on the Water

Hey guys!!  I've spent the last 24 hours in shock about my blogs facebook page.  I went from 1100 likes to almost 12,000 all because I decided to go celebrate a clear skin check by buying polish.  NailNation 3000 is stocked at a local supply store.  I knew they were getting some new stock in so I thought I'd go check it out.  Well when I got there Maria herself, the lady behind the brand, was there.  At first I wasn't sure if it was her but after listening to her banter back and forth with the shop owner I went up and introduced myself.  She's such a nice lady and super funny too.  She shared my blogs page on facebook and my likes just blew up.  I'm seriously amazed.  Hopefully it will translate to blog followers as well.  I'd love if you'd give me a follow on gfc or bloglovin while you're here.  So I thought it was fitting that I post a NailNation 3000 mani.  This gorgeousness is Smoke on the Water with an accent of No Duh!!  The formula on both polishes was great.  They are both two coats and topcoat.  Beware lots of photos below.

Shade
Now I want to go back to the supply shop and buy so many more.  I already have my mental list prepared for my next shopping trip.  If you are in the East Valley head out to Hollywood Beauty Supply on Alma School and Warner and check them out.

Until next time...

Finger Paints Symmetrical Symphony

Shade
Hey guys!  I'm back with a second flakie from the Finger Paints Kaleidoscope collection today.  Hopefully I'll have all the others for you but that probably won't happen until later this weekend.  Today's flakie is Symmetrical Symphony layered over Finger Paints Black Expressionism and an accent of China Glaze First Mate.  I'm trying to pick a color that I think the flakie will look good over in addition to the black with each mani.  I think I picked well today.  Again this is just one coat of Symmetrical Symphony with topcoat in each picture.

I know it's a lot of pictures again but I really just wanted to show all the different colors.  I hope you all have a great day!

Deborah Lippmann at the Golden Globes

Jennifer Lawrence - Deborah chose to complement Jennifer's sexy lip and black and white dress with complementary nails and toes in Bitches Brew!

How To Get The Look:
1.    Deborah applied Turn Back Time ($20) anti-aging base coat with light diffusing micronized diamond core powder
2.    She then layered the mulberry opaque pearl lacquer, Bitches Brew ($17) to create a luxe rich look
3.    Nails and toes were completed with Gel Lab top coat to achieve a high shine, long-wearing finish

Lupita Nyong’o - she is turning heads on the red carpet with nails that complement what she hopes will be her first Golden Globe with the help of Deborah Lippmann.

How To Get The Look:
To treat the hands, Deborah:
-       1. Exfoliated hands with deborah lippmann Cuticle Remover ($20)
-       2. She then rehydrated nail beds with deborah lippmann Cuticle Oil ($20) complete with jojoba and coconut oils and protecting vitamin E
-       3. Deborah nourished Lupita’s hands with Rich Girl SPF 25 Hand Cream ($28) and NEW The Cure ultra-nourishing cuticle lotion
-       4. Finally, Deborah finished by applying Cuticle Oil over the entire hand for a luxe treatment and repair

The color:
-       1. First, Deborah applied a layer of Gel Lab Base Coat to make the polish last twice as long as a traditional polish, without harsh gel lights.
-       2. Deborah applied one coat of Naked ($17), a sheer clean bare beige lacquer
-       3. Then, Deborah applied a second coat of Diamonds And Pearls ($17), an iridescent fresh water pearl sheer shimmer.
-       4. To complete, Deborah used on layer of Gel Lab Top Coat

They both look gorgeous!  I'm going to have to check out this Gel Lab Top Coat for sure.

Have a great day!

Finger Paints Colorful Dream

Shade
Hey all!  Happy Sunday (or very early Monday depending on where you are).  I'm excited to share today's polish with you.  I purchased the new Finger Paints flakies collection at Sally's the other day.  The Kaleidoscope collection is a brand spanking new collection of five flakies.  These are different than the last flakie collection they did.  The old ones where brighter, more primary type colors.  This collection is softer, more pastel type colors.  I decided to start off with my favorite of the collection, Colorful Dream.  What you see in the pictures is one coat of Colorful Dream layered over FP Black Expressionism (an awesome one coat black) and an accent nail of Sation Miss Emo Shun All.  I have topcoat on in all the pictures.  I just love how changing up the base color can change the whole appearance of the flakes.  I actually prefer is over the dark purple of the Sation.  The flakes laid very flat and were smooth with one layer of topcoat.

I know this is more pictures than normal for me but I wanted to make sure you got a good look at these.  Do you like flakies or are these a pass for you?  I like them because they can instantly change any mani.  If you pick them up I'd love to see what layering combos you come up with.  Feel free to drop your mani pictures by my facebook page.

Until next time...

Julep Misti

I was digging around through some old picture files and found this mani from early December that was never posted.  I almost always skip my Julep box but these polishes just seemed so pretty to me.  Julep Misti went on perfectly in two coats.  It was creamy and smooth.  I added Julep Joelle as an accent nail.  It has really pretty sparkles but there wasn't any sun the day I took the pictures.  Since this mani screamed winter to me I added some snowflake glitters on the accent nail.  Instead of buying polishes with snowflakes in them I just purchased some snowflakes from a glitter supply place and have been adding them to my manis.

Are you a Julep fan?  I know people either seem to really love them or really hate them.  Doesn't seem to be much in between.  I think they make decent polishes that are a bit overpriced.

Until next time...

Morgan Taylor Wrapped in Riches

Sun
Hey all!  How is everyone today?  I'm working my butt off this week so not much time for polishing my nails.  Today I have a new to me brand that I stumbled across while shopping at my favorite little supply shop.  I've seen Morgan Taylor a bit on some other blogs but never tried it until today.  Wrapped in Riches was sent to me by a lovely lady I know from a polish facebook group.  I got really excited when I opened it because I had just purchased Morgan Taylor Bright Eyes and knew it was the perfect base color for the sparkly goodness of Wrapped in Riches.  WiR has a tinted base so I think you may be able to wear it on its own but it would take a few layers for sure.  Might get kind of thick that way.

For my first foray into this brand I'm super impressed.  I will definitely be heading back to the supply shop to get some more.  Does anyone know where these can be purchased otherwise?

Have a great day!

Elevation Dykh-Tau and Passion Flower

Hey you guys!  Today's polish is so much prettier than my pictures can even show.  Elevation Dykh-Tau is part of an LE duo but I decided to pair it with Elevation Passion Flower instead of the glitter it came with.  Dykh-Tau has a slight shimmer that is hard to see on the nail but I think helps give this polish some depth.  Passion Flower has circles and hexes in several shades of purple, green and yellow.  Super pretty polish!

I adore Elevation Polish.  Every polish I've ever purchased has been outstanding quality.  I hope you all have a great Monday.

Until next time...

SinfulColors Review

Hello!  I have a review of four polishes from SinfulColors today.  Two are from the Holiday Tinsel collection and two are from the Sheer Lustre Glitter Topcoat collection.  Let's start with the Holiday Tinsel polishes.  First we have Cold as Ice, white bars in a clear base.  Cold as Ice is layered over SinfulColors Sweet Nothing.  I got all this glitter in one coat.  The bars laid flat and were smooth with one coat of topcoat.  Both pictures are in overcast conditions.  No sun that day.

Next up is Spiked Ice, black bars in a clear base, layered over SinfulColors Sweet Tooth.  Formula and application was just like Cold as Ice.  First is a sun photo, then a shade photo.

Now I have two polishes from the Sheer Lustre Glitter Topcoat collection.  The first one is Glittery in Pink layered over SinfulColors Slate.  This is one coat of Glittery in Pink.  Super glitter payoff and it was easily smoothed with one coat of topcoat.  This one did not want to be photographed.  Again first is a sun photo, then a shade photo.

Lastly is Girl's Best Friend over SinfulColors Black on Black.  This is mostly small pink glitters with sparse purple ones.  Amazing glitter payoff in just one coat.  You might be able to build this up and wear it alone.  Sun photo first then a shade photo.

So what do you think?  I'm really impressed with the formula of these glitters.  They went on smooth and even.  I love when a drugstore brand delivers high quality results.  You can find SinfulColors on facebook here.  Give them a like and you'll be kept up to date on all the new releases.

Until next time...

Sara

*Some of the polishes in this post were sent to me by the pr company in exchange for me honest review.  As always all opinions are totally mine.*
