Formula X for Sephora Turbulent

Sun

Hello!  A while back I picked up a few of the new Formula X for Sephora polishes.  So far the ones I've tried have been really, really nice.  Today I have Turbulent to show you.  This is a very indie-ish glitter topcoat made up of different sizes of back and turquoise glitters.  I layered it over China Glaze Naked but I think it needs a brighter pink or a purple would be nice too.  In real life my nails just kinda looked dirty.  The quality of this polish though is outstanding.  This is one single coat.  No fishing, no placing, no dabbing for glitter.  Everything is laying down nice and smooth.

Shade
Have you tried any of these polishes yet?  I definitely plan on getting more.  There are so many choices of color and finish.

Have a great day!

Different Dimension Black Dahlia

Hey all!  It's been a while huh?  Today's gorgeous polish is Different Dimension Black Dahlia.  This polish is so outstanding.  Two coats made this perfect.  Gray holoish goodness with pretty glitter thrown in.  I bet you could layer this over black and it would look awesome.  The first two pictures were taken in the sun and the last one is a shade picture to try and show you some of the glitter.

I hope you all had a great holiday yesterday.  I'm hoping to blog more regularly in the future now that birthday/holiday season is over.

Until next time...

Different Dimension Mistle-Toad

Hey everyone!  Happy Thursday.  Today I have a quickie post featuring the drool worthy Different Dimension Mistle-Toad, a green holo with pink shimmer.  Hot damn this is an amazing polish!  It applied like a dream.  Two coats and it was perfect.

I know this is a lot of pictures but really this polish rocks and I couldn't narrow it down.  I'd love to see this polish without the holo (don't throw things at me) because the pink shimmer is gorgeous.  Have a great day everyone!

Holiday Mani #1

Shade

Hey all!  Tonight I have a Christmas mani, hopefully the first of a few holiday manis but we shall see.  I started with a base of Zoya Trixie then added dots using Zoya Elisa and SinfulColors Pine Away.  For my accent nail I used Julie G Mistletoe, a textured polish from their Gumdrop line, and tape.  Then added a few colored dots to be ornaments.  I got a little impatient with my topcoat though and smeared some of the dots.

Sun

I hope you're all having a great night.  I'd love to see your holiday manis.  Feel free to drop them by my facebook page.  Until next time...

SinfulColors Mirror Metallics Review

Hello!  I have four polishes from the SinfulColors Mirror Metallics collection to show you today.  I love, love, love foils so I was super excited to be able to review some of these.  I would say foil finishes are my second favorite right after a good glass fleck.  I'm going to start by saying the formula on these was really, really good.  Plus they were all the same in formula and application.  I appreciate the consistency that this collection has to offer.  Each one was smooth and perfectly opaque in two coats.  Each color has a sun picture and a shade picture.

First up is Triple Platinum.

Next is Purple Heart.

This is Pine Away.

Lastly this is Blue Steel.

I'd say my favorites are Pine Away and Triple Platinum.  Pine Away has already been used again in a Christmas themed pedi.  Also in this collection are a silver, gold and a red polish.  I'll be out hunting for the red tomorrow.  You can find SinfulColors on facebook here.  While I don't have a twitter account you can find them on twitter @SinfulColors_NP.  I hope you all have a great day!

Until next time...

*These polishes were sent to me by the pr company in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are 100% mine.*

Major Nail Fail

Hey all!  Earlier this week I promised you a look at my gradient gone wrong.  In my head this mani was gorgeous.  On my nails, not so much.  I started with China Glaze Glistening Snow.  Such an amazing polish all on it's own.  Then I used China Glaze Put a Bow On It to do a quick gradient.  I really thought this would work since Bow is a micro glitter with a clear base but oh no.  Instead it looks like I'm bleeding from my cuticles.  Oh well!  Two pretty polishes that just shouldn't be worn this way.  Next time I'll just do an accent nail.

I hope you all have a great Friday.  Until next time...

Chevron Stamping

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  It has been forever since I've done any stamping.  If you follow along over on my facebook page you saw my junior high chic, crazy stamping practice mani.  I was testing out colors and plates.  In the end I decided to use Color Club Over the Moon to stamp a chevron print on Zoya Ibiza.  I'm obviously not the best stamper.  My chevrons are a bit wonky but I really don't care.  This was just so much fun to wear.  This ended up being my Thanksgiving mani.  Not festive at all but super cute.

This makes me want to stamp every mani with a holo.  So much fun!  I hope you all have a great day.

China Glaze That's Tree-mendous

Sun
Hello!  Today I have another polish from the China Glaze 2013 holiday collection, That's Tree-mendous.  Goofy name for a fun, sparkly polish.  This is a micro glitter polish that built up nicely in three coats.  This really reminded me of Glistening Snow (a big favorite of mine) from last year's holiday collection, as far as formula and application.  It was a bit harder to remove but nothing terribly hard.

Shade
I plan to wear this again and do a gold gradient, maybe with Zoya Ziv.  I think it will look amazing.  Although I have a major gradient fail to show you later this week that may have you questioning my gradient skills ;)

Until next time my lovely readers...

Polish Addict Nail Color Frost Bite

Sun

Hey all!  I'm kinda in shock that this is my 350th post.  Sometimes I'm amazed I've stuck with this that long.  Today I have on Polish Addict Nail Color Frost Bite with an accent of Lavender Frost.  I'm actually currently wearing this mani since it was what I decided to wear on my nails for family pictures today.  Frost Bite went on in two super easy coats.  Seriously guys this formula is awesome.  I decided to layer 2 coats of Lavender Frost over an old mini Sephora polish, Don't Look Back, because I didn't want to wait a long time for several layers of glitter to dry.

Sun
I'm so in love with this combo that I didn't even paint my nails tonight like I had planned.  I was going to do something fun for my son's bday party tomorrow but I'm just going to keep wearing this.  I hope you all have a great weekend.

Cult Nails Princess

Good morning!  Today is a quickie post featuring Cult Nails Princess with an accent of Rainbow Honey 20% Cooler.  Princess applied well.  It took two coats to be opaque and even.  It was overcast the day I wore this mani so no sun photos for you sadly.

The quality of both these polishes was good but together they didn't wow me.  Oh well!  Can't win them all.  I'm trying to get some posts scheduled for you guys but I am working so much for about the next week and won't even have time to paint my nails.  So it may be a little quieter than normal here.

Until next time...

Lacquerhead Polish Full Tealt

Hey all!  Tonight I have a polish to show you that I lusted after forever.  I was fortunate enough to be the winner of a giveaway that Lacquerhead was having so I got to pick two polishes from her shop.  I knew right away that I had to have this one.  I decided to layer Full Tealt over China Glaze Exotic Encounters because I have the hardest time making these jelly with glitter polishes look even.  So this is two coats of Full Tealt.  The formula is good.  The big glitters came out super easy, no fishing around required.  All of the photos today were taken in the shade.  The sun pictures were all super terrible.  The sun reflecting of those large holo glitters made my camera freak out.

Lacquerhead has long been one of my absolute favorite indies.  I own quite a few and they have all been awesome.  You can find her shop here if you'd like to take a look.

Have a great night (or day)!

Oh the Sparkles!

Good morning!  Let me start with a warning.  This post has a lot of pictures.  These two polishes just screamed for lots of photos.  Normally I stay away from launch/re-stock madness with just about every brand.  When I saw the pictures of a new to me brand, Joss Nail Lacquer, I knew without a doubt I had to have In a Mermaid's Dream and In a Violet Haze.  It took me both launches but I managed to snag them both when they were put on Llarowe's site.

These polishes were both super easy to work with.  I really wanted to wear them individually but I couldn't pick one so I put them both on.  This is two coats of each polish with topcoat.

Blurred to show the sparkle

Just love these!  I hope you all have a great day.

KBShimmer Teal Another Tail

Sun

Hi everyone!  Today I have one of my absolute favorite polishes in a long, long time.  This gorgeous polish is KBShimmer Teal Another Tail.  I knew when I saw the first pictures of this that I had to have it.  I just knew that this was perfect for me.  Before I could buy it, a lovely friend that I've gotten to know through some nail groups on facebook, sent it to me.  I'm eternally grateful for this.  When I put this on I was just amazed.  It's my perfect polish!  This is three coats and topcoat.

Sun

Shade
Seriously my pictures don't really show the amazingness of this polish.  I don't even have words for how much I loved this one.  Are you a KBShimmer fan?  I have a few besides this one that are pretty nice.  What is your favorite KBShimmer polish?

I hope you all have a fantastic day!  Until next time...

China Glaze So Blue Without You

Hey all!  Tonight for your viewing pleasure I have China Glaze So Blue Without You, from the new holiday collection, with an accent nail of Polish Addict Nail Color Rainbow Concrete.  This seemed like an unlikely pair just looking at the bottles but I decided to go for it.  The blue glitters in Rainbow Concrete were a great match to the blue polish.  So Blue Without You was perfect in two coats.  I love foils so much.  They are so easy to use and super opaque.  RC was also good to go in two coats.  You know how some crelly polishes with glitter can be a bit sheer?  This one is not at all.

Sorry I don't have a good sun picture for you.  It was weirdly cloudy when I took these pictures.  I hope you're all having a great evening.

Until next time...

LynBDesigns Blue Moonstone

Hi Everyone!  I have a quickie post tonight of a mani that I was so in love with.  This is LynBDesigns Blue Moonstone with a small accent of LynBDesigns All Holo's Eve.  I'm having a bad blogger moment and I can't remember if this is two or three coats of Blue Moonstone.  I do remember that the formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I had very minimal clean up with this polish.  I bought some cool french tip guides from Born Pretty Store.  They have a few different shapes that give different looks than the typical french tip guide.  All of today's pictures were taken in full sunlight.

I hope you all have a fabulous night.  Until next time...

*I bought these polishes myself.  I stalked the LynBDesigns facebook page for a sale then jumped all over these two.*

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Review

Press Sample

Hello!  Today I have four polishes from Femme Fatale Cosmetics.  This is my very first experience with this Australian indie so I'm super excited to do this review.  Up first we have Spring Fling.  This is probably best described as a crelly with glitter.  Initially I tried it by itself but after three coats I had a bit of vnl and wasn't completely happy with how it looked.  Since I had a mini bottle of Spring Fling I decided to layer two coats over Zoya Neely.  There is lots of glitter in this polish, no fishing or placing necessary.

Sun

Sun

Next up is Suspended Starlight over Zoya Ibiza.  Let me start by saying that I'm not convinced I picked the best layering combo for this polish.  The shade picture shows off the glitter a lot better but this polish in person was so much prettier than my picture shows.  There are stars and moons in this polish.  I only got one of each though.  Again there was great glitter payoff and for so much glitter the formula is really smooth and easy to apply.

Shade

My third polish is Mercury Rain.  This polish has a clear base with holo sparkles and black and grey dots and hexes.  I layered this over Zoya Suri.  This polish was so sparkly that when we were loading up the car my boss noticed it and asked what was on my nails.

Sun

Shade

Finally I have Dreamer's Potion layered over Sation Dating the Duke.  Just like all of the above polishes the glitter applied evenly and was pretty smooth with just one coat of topcoat.

Sun

Shade

I am super impressed by the quality of these polishes.  They all had plenty of glitter.  There was no fishing around for the stars or moons in the polishes that had them.  This makes me excited to get my hands on some more Femme Fatale polishes.  I received these for review from Femme Fatale.  They are based in Australia but do have international shipping.  Click here to check out their website and here to give them a like on facebook.  I hope you liked this glitter packed post today.  Have a great one!

Until next time...
