Sally Hansen Salon Effects Glow in the Dark

*Press Sample*

Hey all!  Anyone else like me and procrastinate on their Halloween mani?  I did some last week but this week has just flown by.  So I decided to try out the Sally Hanse Salon Effects that I received for review last week.  And lets be real if I had waited to show them to you until next week there wouldn't really have been a need for them.  This is only my second time using these.  They are super easy to use and had lots of size and shape choices.  Basically you stick it on, smooth is down and then file off the excess.  As you can see by the tips of my nails I struggled a bit with the filing part.  I need to figure out how to not remove so much.  If you have any tips I'd love to hear them.  All that said, I freakin love these.  Instant nail art is my kind of art.  Mr. MLiP thought these were super neat too.

Check out the glow on these bad boys!  They didn't have to charge up or anything.  Sorry I'm not the best with the glow in the dark photography but you get the idea.  Too cool!  I put these on last night and I'm definitely wearing them out trick or treating with my boys.

Head on out and pick these up for a super quick and easy Halloween mani.  They are available in all the usual places you find Sally Hansen products.  Have a great night everyone!

Happy Halloween!!!

NYC Midnight Beauty Collection (partial) Review

*Press Sample*

Hello!  Today I have two polishes from the New York Color (NYC) Midnight Beauty Collection.  First up is Animal Instinct.  This is a gorgeous orange shimmer polish.  I used three coats and top coat for today's pictures.  The formula on this one was kind of a pain.  It was still streaky after two coats but the polish was thickening up on me while I was tying to apply it.  That said I'm in love with the color.  It was nice and bright.

Next up is Rock Muse, a Smokey Top Coat, a black jelly base with different sized silver glitters.  Since this is a jelly base and I'm not a huge fan of visible nail line I started with a black cream then applied two coats of Rock Muse.  This has great glitter payoff and was super easy to work with.  Since this is a great Halloween polish I added a jack 'o lantern decal from Lacquer by Lissa.

Orly Mirrorball

*Purchased by me*

Orly Mirrorball
Orly Mirrorball

Hey guys!  I have the super cool Orly Mirrorball to show you today.  In the sunlight this polish is a real stunner.  Silvery, linear holo with little holo glitters in it to give it a little something extra.  I used two coats and top coat for this mani.  This will be a fun polish for the holidays.  I can already picture this polish with a sparkly, green texture polish to make a christmas tree.  Lots of options for this one.

Zoya Matte Velvet Collection Review

*Press Sample*

Hello!  Today I have a collection to review that I'm super excited about.  The Zoya Matte Velvet collection is a re-release of a much loved past collection.  I didn't own any of these prior to them showing up on my doorstep.  I'm so in love with these now it's a bit ridiculous.  These all had the most amazing formula.  So smooth and easy to apply.  The dry time is so fast.  Like crazy fast!  Each polish was perfect in two coats.  Obviously there is no top coat.  Also each polish has a sun picture and a shade picture.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Review

*Press Sample*

Hey all!  I have a quick Halloween colored mani for you tonight.  I received the new Halloween colors from Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for review.  These three just begged to be worn together.  I started with a base of OMGhost, a great white that was opaque in two coats.  I know Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White was a huge favorite for a lot of people and is discontinued but I think this would make a great replacement for that.  After that was dry I used a chevron pattern from Nail Vinyls down the middle.  The orange is Pumpkin Queen.  It covered the white in one coat and is the perfect orange for Halloween.  The black is Scaredy Matte.  It also covered the white in one coat.  I put topcoat just over the orange so the black would stay matte.

The formula on these was good.  What I had issues with was the amount of polish on the big, flat brushes.  The brushes give a lot of coverage but my nails are pretty curved and I struggle a bit with them.  But that's just me and not a reflection on the polish.  I've seen this collection in a few drugstores around here.  So run out and get the white.  And the orange!!

Have a great night!

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Review

*Press Sample*

Hey guys!  I have a quick review of a Born Pretty Store stamping plate for you today.  I started with a base of Essie Mojito Madness and stamped an image from plate QA87 using Rica Gloomy Sunday.  I didn't have any issues with this plate.  I stamped several of the images on a piece of paper and they all picked up very well.

I love gray and green together but this mani was hard to photograph.  The gray was much easier to see in person.  Born Pretty Store has a ton of great nail art products.  Click here to see the plate I used.  Also, don't forget to use code FEMJ61 to save 10% on regular priced purchases.

Have a great day!

Dragon Claw Polish Review

*Press Sample*

Good morning everyone!  Today I have a few polishes from a brand new indie line to show you.  Dragon Claw Polish is 5 free and cruelty free indie line that will be launching November 7th will three fun collections.  Today I have one polishes from each of the premier collections.  I was also sent a mini bottle of Dragon Claw's quick dry top coat, Diamond Claw.  I used it with all the polishes.  I'll give you my findings at the end.   Oh and I'm trying out macro shots again.  Let me know what you think.  I will master these someday.

First up is Ant Venom from the Ick Made Pretty collection.  This is an orchid/purple chrome polish.  Two coats made it opaque and it applied very well.  I had zero issues with the formula and application.

Up next is Chewy Rainbow Bands from the Toys Everywhere! collection.  This is based of the Rainbow Loom Bands that Janet's, the lady behind the brand, little one is always finding and chewing on.  This is a pink jelly with different sized and color glitters in it.  When I tried this on it's own I still had visible nail lines (vnl) at four coats so I decided to layer it over a bright pink cream, Rica Pinky Promise.  I applied two coats of Chewy Rainbow Bands.  I struggled to get the blue and yellow glitters out.  I had to get them on the neck of the bottle and then fish them out with the brush and put them on the nail.  The final look is great it just took a bit of work.

Finally we have my favorite of the bunch.  This is Bren from the Girls of Famous Asian collection.  So much pretty here!  This is the perfect denim blue polish.  I used there coats to make it perfectly even and opaque.  I wore this one for a few days I loved it so much.

I topped all these polishes with Diamond Claw quick dry top coat.  I'm pretty impressed.  Within a few minutes my nails were touchable.  At the 15 minute mark I was pretty good to go.  I could dent the polish if I dug in the edge of another nail but was able to do things.

Don't forget these and many others are releasing on November 7th.  Have a great day!

Born Pretty Store Nail Studs

*Press Sample*

Hello!  Today's post is a review of these pretty nails studs from Born Pretty Store.  The ones I picked are brightly colored stars and circles.  I started with a base of China Glaze Aquadelic, which was one of my favorite polishes ever but the color seems to have changed.  It's not as bright as it used to be.  Sad!  Then I used tweezers to pick up the studs and place them on the nail.  I went with some random patterns so you could see all the colors they came in.

The studs are easy to use and stayed put nicely.  My only real complaint is in the package they got a bit mixed together in transit.  Born Pretty Store has tons of great, affordable nail art options.  The studs I used are here.  Remember code FEMJ61 will save you 10% on your regular priced purchase.

Have a great night!

China Glaze But of Corpse
China Glaze But of Corpse

Good morning!  I have some quick and easy Halloween nails for you today.  I started with China Glaze But of Corpse, a green with black glitter.  It dries to a texture finish but it's not overwhelming so I was able to handle it.  I used two coats, a layer of Gelous and a quick dry top coat.  My accent nail is Finger Paints Black Expressionism, an easy one coat black, and stamped with Rica Whiteout.

Have you done any Halloween nails yet?  I'm still trying to decide what to wear on Halloween.  Have a great day!

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Review

*Press Sample*

Hello!  I have a stamping plate review for you today.  The plate was sent for review from Born Pretty Store.  I used an image off plate W-10.  My squishy stamper fell apart when I first tried this mani so I had to use my double ended Konad stamper.  I think this plate was very good.  The images picked up and were complete.

I used Rica Sugar Plum Wings to stamp on Barielle Moda Bleu.  I ended up wearing this mani for a few days because I liked it way more than I was anticipating.  Born Pretty has tons of inexpensive, neat nail art products.  If you click here it will take you right to the plate I used.  Don't forget code FEMJ61 will save you 10% on your regular priced purchases.

Until next time...

Rica Gnome Thyself

Rica Gnome Thyself
Rica Gnome Thyself
Hello!  Today's polish is one I'm so excited for.  I adore gnomes!  Not sure why really but they are just so cute.  I have a few around my house.  Rica and Stardust polish have a monthly polish box called the GNOME box.  It stands for Glitter Nerds of Magical Existence.  It's a limited box each month and I'm super excited to have scored October's box.  This is Rica Gnome Thyself, a gorgeous blue holo.  This is three coats and top coat.  I've really come to love the great quality of Rica polishes.

Hey everyone!  Today's post is featuring Barielle Me Couture for fall 2014.  This is a great collection of five creams and one mostly hidden shimmer.  Barielle does creams so well.

This is Taupe Notch.  The Barielle description calls it a dark taupe.  In person this pulled really gray on me.  Either way I loved it!  This is two perfect coats.

This is Vintage Gown.  This is the shimmer polish of the group.  I picked the photo with the most shimmer showing but it doesn't show very well in most light.  That said the formula and application was great.  This is two coats.

Last up is Soho at Night, a grape purple.  This is the only one that took three coats.  It was a bit more jellyish than the others.  Just like the Moda Bleu is still look purple in most light even though it's a dark polish.  This is my favorite of the bunch.
