Rainbow Favorites: Purple

Hello and happy Friday!  I'm so happy the weekend is almost here.  Lots of fun things going on this weekend.  We are going to a banquet that my husbands work puts on for kids moving on to the next grade.  The kids get trophies and prizes.  It's cool to see people celebrating academics.  On Sunday we have a 4th of July party.  Big fun!  Anyway today in the Rainbow Favorites challenge is purple.  I have a love/hate relationship with purples.  I like them I just don't usually love them.  This is two coats of Zoya Dannii.  Zoya does these sparkly colors so well.  This is one purple that I really do love.  My runner ups were Zoya Zara and OPI Grape, Set, Match.

I completely forgot to announce the Icing Tiger's Blood giveaway winner.  The winner was Jen Sky Walker!  Yay Jen!

See you tomorrow with the last color of our Rainbow Challenge, pink.

Rainbow Favorites: Blue

Picking a favorite blue was super hard.  I have lots of blues.  Orly Sweet Peacock is so stunning it just had to be shown today.  This polish freaked my camera out so bad though.  Sweet Peacock is a foil with a great two coat formula.  On my ring finger I did China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.  I love this combo.

Sorry this post is so late today.  I'll be back tomorrow morning with purple.

Sassy Lacquer Sea Glass and a Giveaway

Oh boy I am so excited to share this special polish with you today!  A while back Carrie from Reflections, Sassy Nails, and Silly Diversions contacted me with a really cool offer.  She made a blogger inspired collection and wanted my input for one.  I basically worked with Carrie to design a polish from scratch.  We emailed back and forth a bunch and this is what we came up with.  Sea Glass is a gorgeous seafoam green with small teal glitters in it.  Sea Glass is sheer but buildable.  The pictures are three coats and topcoat.

I'm just in love with this!  There are two other bloggers involved in this.  Bee Polished and Chalkboard Nails.  Be sure to check out the Sassy Lacquer polishes they designed.  The blogger trio will be available on Friday from Carrie's shop.  I have an extra bottle to give away to one of my lovely readers.      Be sure to check out Carrie's blog.  There's nail polish, recipes, book reviews and more.

Good luck!  I'll be back with my Rainbow Favorites Green post later today.

Rainbow Favorites: Green

Today in the Rainbow Challenge is green.  I have and love lots of greens.  I choose Essie Pretty Edgy to show you because it was one of my gateway polishes.  Originally I bought a mini of this and Demure Vixen.  I decided I love them both so much I bought them in full size and gave the minis to my sister.  Pretty Edgy has some formula issues but I just love the color so much I'll over look them.  This is three coats of green gorgeousness.

What is your favorite green?  Another green I love is Mojito Madness.  Luckily it has none of the formula issues of this polish.  Down below is a list of everyone else that is doing the challenge.

Rainbow Favorites: Yellow

Welcome to day three of the Rainbow Favorites challenge.  I have even fewer yellows than I do reds.  This is three coats of Zoya Pippa.  Two coats still made it look all streaky.  Three was pretty much perfect.  My accent nail is China Glaze Snow Globe.  The light colored glitter just goes so well with the yellow.

I've really enjoyed this challenge so far.  I've discovered a bunch of new blogs and am loving all the comments.  The list of bloggers participating is down below.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow with green.

Rainbow Favorites: Orange

Happy Monday!  Today in the Rainbow Favorites challenge is orange.  I have a lot more oranges than I do reds, so I had a few more to choose from.  This is China Glaze Orange Marmalade.  It's pretty thin and this is three coats.  The sun picture shows a bunch of VNL but in real life it didn't look that bad.

I just love the shiny, juiciness of it so much.  So what is your all time favorite orange polish?  Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with yellow.  Below is a list of all the blogs participating.

Rainbow Favorites: Red

Good morning everyone!  Bec from Lacquer Dreams came up with a fun little challenge, Rainbow Favorites.  Each day this week you will see my favorite polish from a color or the rainbow.  I've never done a challenge before so I thought this would be fun.  Plus we can look at it as a weeks worth of Shop My Stash posts because I've worn all of these before.  I know a lot of the other bloggers participating are doing nail art along with their colors but I major suck at art so I'm probably just going to show you some of my favorite colors.

Today is Red.  Now I think I actually own only 4 red polishes and they are all sparkly.  I just don't care for red creams at all.  Maybe you guys can suggest some of your favorites so I can check them out.  Today's red is Zoya Kimmy.  Isn't she so pretty?  This is two coats of sparkly red goodness.  The formula was great as usual.

There are a lot of bloggers doing this but I don't have a list as of right now.  If you click on Lacquer Dreams I bet she has a list on her red post.  Have a great day and see you tomorrow with orange.

Julep Robin & Portia

Sun

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week so far.  It's been so hot here.  Like 113 type of hot.  My son has soccer camp in the evenings and I just don't know how he's doing it.  Any how, today I have Julep Robin and Portia to show you.  Robin is a turquoise creme with a really good formula.  This is two coats plus topcoat.  I love colors like this, you all know that.  Amazingly I don't have anything that is a dupe.  I have some I'm sure Mr. MLIP would say are the same, but I assure you they are not.  I put Julep Portia on two fingers just because they seemed to match so well.  Portia is a sheer light blue with tons of glitter packed in.

Shade
Don't forget I'm having a small giveaway over on my Zoya Annie post.  Do you have a favorite turquoise polish?  Let me know.  I'd love to check it out.  Have a great day!

Zoya Annie & Cult Nails Captivated

Sun

Hello!  Todays manicure was picked out by my 9 year old son.  He selected Zoya Annie with an accent nail of Cult Nails Captivated.  He also insisted that the accent be on my pointer finger.  I love, love these polishes together.  This is two coats of Zoya Annie, a gorgeous orange red.  Perfect formula like usual.  They I put on coat of Captivated on my accent nail.  These just compliment each other so well.  I should let my son pick my colors more often.

Shade

Cult Nails Captivated has a dupe that is made by Icing.  I have one brand new bottle of Icing Tiger's Blood that I would like to give away to one of my readers.  Just drop me a comment on this post and let me know what your favorite Cult Nails polish is.  If you have a favorite Icing polish I'd love to hear that too.  Be sure to leave me your email so I can contact you if you win.  If you aren't comfortable leaving your email in the comments go ahead and email me your info.  Giveaway will run for one week.  Good luck and I'll talk with you soon.

Pretty & Polished Sand Art

Today I have an indie polish for you.  I'm sure you've all heard of Pretty & Polished.  I started by using Zoya Dove and OPI No Room for the Blues as my base colors.  My accent nail is on my pointer finger per the request of my 9 year old.  He has decided that all my accents should be on my pointer.  Silly boy :)  Next I layered one coat of Pretty & Polished Sand Art on all my nails.  Sand Art is so cool!  Sand Art is stuffed full of pink, purple, green and blue glitter.

Both pictures are in the sun because the shade shots just didn't do anything for me.  I really love Sand Art and spent lots of time layering it over different things before deciding on this.  It also looked really cool over China Glaze Concrete Catwalk.  I just didn't feel like having my nails that dark today.  I hope you all have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Zuza

Today I have for you two coats of pure perfection.  For over a year now Zoya Charla has been my favorite nail polish.  Zoya Zuza has now taken over that spot.  I have major love for this teal color family right now and foils are one of my favorite finishes.  This is two coats of Zuza with a Charla accent.  The formula on Zuza was perfection.  No clean up at all.  I will definitely be wearing this over and over again.

What did you all think of the Zoya summer collections?  So far Zuza and Myrta have been my favorites.  Hope you all have a great day!

Zoya Areetha & China Glaze Liquid Crystal

Sun

Good morning!  Is everyone enjoying their Monday so far?  I am but I'm still in my pjs so that might be why.  Today's mani is a bit of a fail.  I had to leave for work in an hour so I did this pretty quick.  This is two coats of Zoya Areetha, a pretty purple metallic.  The problem is Areetha is frosty, brush strokes galore.  The formula was a tad weird as well but I think that's because I recieved Areetha in a swap and the mailman put it in the wrong box.  It spent the month of April in the neighbors box.  It was really hot here in Phoenix in April.  I think she cooked some.  So to cover up the streaks I sponged on some China Glaze Liquid Crystal using an eyeshadow applicator.  I've done this before and it looked good.  Not so much this time.  So off to work I went with my less than stellar nails that would not dry.  I always use a quick dry topcoat but hours later this mani was still denting.  What a mess!

Shade
I don't think I'll be wearing Areetha again but I am going to keep her because I think she'll work well for stamping.  I hope you all have a great day!

Barielle Do Unto Others & Buddha-ful

Hi there my lovelies!  Today I have a combo that while the pictures are okay, real life is much better.  This is two coats of Barielle Do Unto Others.  This gorgeous aqua/turquoise color is somewhere in between a jelly and a cream.  The formula couldn't have been any easier to use.  I had zero clean up with Do Unto Others.  Next I added a layer of Barielle Buddha-ful on top.  I can't claim this idea.  I saw it on another blog but can't for the life of me remember which one.  So thank you to the blogger that wore it first.  Buddha-ful is a super sheer, milky pink flakie.  I can't wait to try it over a bright pink.

I hope you like today's combo.  What is your favorite Barielle shade?  You can check them out at Barielle.com.  Have a great day!

Sara

*Do Unto Others was sent to me by the PR company.  I purchased Buddha-ful myself*

China Glaze Flirty Tankini

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today I have one of the new China Glaze neons.  I've always been a bit hesitant with neons before but I am in love with most of this collection.  I think it's the shimmer.  I love a good shimmer.  China Glaze Flirty Tankini is a coral neon that pulls really pink on me indoors.  This is two coats of Flirty Tankini.  I had a tad bit of VNL but nothing really noticeable in real life.  I thought about adding another coat but it was getting a little thick.  Everyone should run out and buy this color right now.  I love it that much!

So have you picked up any of the neons yet?  I also got I'm with the Lifeguard and it's currently on my toes.  Talk about a super bright green.  It's awesome!

Shop My Stash Saturday China Glaze

Good Morning!  I have a quick Shop My Stash post for you today.  I used these colors the other day as a base for my King Triton mani.  The darker color is China Glaze Wagon Trail from the Rodeo Diva Collection.  I adore this color.  A dark olive with pretty golden shimmer.  The formula for me was really good.  Two even coats.  There is no topcoat used in these photos.  My ring finger is China Glaze Fast Track from the Hunger games collection.  Again this is two super easy coats with no topcoat.  I bought Fast Track because I figured I should own a neutral color or two in my collection.  This surprised me in how much I actually like it.  I think I just like anything shimmery.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  As for me I get to work tonight and run errands today in 110+ degree heat.  Yay!  Feel free to add your own sarcasm to that yay :)
