A Pretty Cling Wrap Mani

Hey all!  I love, love cling (saran, plastic) wrap manis.  It's nail art that I can actually do!  Today's mani is done with China Glaze Sweet Hook and Orly Decoded.  To do a cling wrap mani I start by painting on my base color and allowing it to dry a bit.  They I paint on the second color, in this case Decoded, and then I dab the plastic wrap on it.  I do this one finger at a time.  The best part is if you take too much of the second color off you can always add more, then dab again.  After that I let it dry a bit then topcoat it.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy :)

Have you tried a cling wrap mani before?  I'd love some color recommendations to try out.  Thanks for stopping by.

*I bought these polishes myself.  Every time I went to the supply store Sweet Hook called to me.  I finally gave in and brought the poor lonely polish home.*

Paris Sparkles Pink Cellophane

Sun

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous day.  Today I have a polish from a new to me indie called Paris Sparkles.  Last week Paris Sparkles was having a sale for bloggers and I jumped at the chance to try out a new indie.  Today's polish is Pink Cellophane and I have to say in the bottle it looks just like pink cellophane.  It's a shimmery, sheer pink with a slight green shimmer, iridescent small glitters and larger hex glitters.  To show off this cool polish I have two coats layered over Essie Mojito Madness and Sation Tardy Tart.  The formula of Pink Cellophane was really great.  Even coverage with each coat.  My only complaint is the larger hex glitters did not want to come out of the bottle.  I had to fish around for the few I got.  Other than that I love this combo so much, which is weird because it's so not me.

I tried to capture the green shimmer on the purple nail but it just didn't want to be shown.  I'm not in love with my photos of this but I took a ton and this was as good as it got.  You can check out Paris Sparkles on facebook here and on etsy here.  I hope you enjoyed this color combo.  Have a great day!

*I purchased this polish during a sale for bloggers.  The savings in no way influenced my opinions of this polish.  It just allowed me to buy more to show you.*

Butter London Two Fingered Salute

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days.  It's been raining a ton here and I tweaked my back.  I've not been doing much at all.  Today's quickie post is Butter London Two Fingered Salute.  Every now and again a polish comes along that I just can't stop thinking about.  That's what happened with Two Fingered Salute.  I just kept obsessing over it until I finally broke down and ordered it.  It's a gorgeous sage green with copper glitter in it.  It looks like a beautiful patina.  Originally I used two coats and then topcoat.  Once I was done I realized I had some patchy spots so I added another coat and then topcoat again.  It was perfect after that.  I honestly own nothing else like it.  Nothing even close to it.  Both photos are in the sun because all the shade pictures have a wicked reflection of my house in them.  Sorry about that.

I'm in love with greens of this variety.  Does anyone know of a green like this but minus the copper?  I'd love to own one.  Thanks and I hope you all have a great day.

*Sshhh!  Don't tell Mr. MLiP he bought this polish for me.*

Lacquerhead Slumber Party

Shade

Good morning!  Today for your viewing pleasure I have Lacquerhead Polish Slumber Party layered over Zoya Malia.  Slumber Party is a glitter topper made up of white and purple holo glitters and fine purple glitter.  This is one coat of Slumber Party over two coats of Malia.  The application was flawless.  Lots of glitter and it applied very evenly.  No clumping up of the glitter on my nails.

Sun
So far every Lacquerhead polish I've tried has been great quality.  You can buy them on etsy.  I hope you all have a wonderful day.

LynBDesigns Kiss Kiss & Not So Conversational Hearts

Sun
Good morning!  I have two polishes today from LynBDesigns that I'm really excited to show you.  First up is Kiss Kiss, a shimmery coral color.  I'm so in love with this color it's ridiculous.  The application was a breeze.  This is three coats.  Two coats was pretty but I still had some VNL.  Not only is this a great Valentine's Day color, it's also going to make a great pedi color in the summer.  Considering it was almost 80 here yesterday maybe I should just put it on my toes now.

Jenna, the brains behind this indie, suggested layering Kiss Kiss over black.  It's stunning!  My index finger has two coats over black and all the other fingers have one coat over black.  I prefer one coat but my application was less than stellar.  That's what I get for polishing my nails while talking to my little guy.  It has nothing to do with the polish at all.

Next up we have Not So Conversational Hearts.  The name just cracks me up!  This is a lavender creme that has both black and white shreds and hearts.  Shown here is three coats.  I had a bit of patchiness after two so I added another.  I had to fish a bit for the hearts.  They kept coming to the neck of the bottle, so I'd get them out with the brush and place them on my nails.  I've never had an indie creme polish before and I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the quality.  This is a fun Valentine's Day polish.

All in all I really like these polishes.  Do you own any LynBDesigns polishes?  I have a few more on my wishlist, mostly Thor's Hammer.  Be sure to follow LynBDesigns on facebook.  There are specials and sales being run all the time.  Click here to head on over to her etsy shop and order some lovely polishes of your own, because you can't share mine :)

Until next time,

Sara

*No funny quip today.  I know you're disappointed :)  These polishes were sent to me in exchange for my honest review.*

KBShimmer Oh Splat!

Shade

Happy Friday!  Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?  I'm going to try to take my boys mini golfing.  We've missed out the last few weekends due to sickness and freaky cold weather.  Anyway on to why your here.  This is KBShimmer Oh Splat, a white jelly base with multi colored glitter.  I'm a sucker for the white base polishes with glitters in them.  The formula on this one is fantastic.  This is three coats, it was pretty good at two but I wanted the VNL gone.  Plenty of glitter with each coat.  Love!!

So far I've loved every KBShimmer polish I've tried.  Next on my wishlist is Elle.  What's your favorite KBShimmer polish?

Until next time,

Sara

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Kitty Glitter

Shade

Good morning lacquer lovers!  Today I have my very first Whimsical Ideas by Pam to show you.  In one of my facebook groups I had mentioned that I liked this polish but had never ordered anything from this indie maker before.  A very lovely lady said she had one and didn't like it and she'd drop it in the mail to me.  I was floored that someone I didn't know at all would do something so sweet for me.  I'm in love with Kitty Glitter.  It's just so pretty!  Kitty Glitter is a pale aqua/minty color with silver hex and micro glitter.  It's pretty sheer so I layered two coats of KG over two coats of Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Beach House.  I have a bottle shot for you at the end so you can see how close the colors are.

These pictures were taken after a day of wear because it was crazy cloudy the day I did my nails.  Do you own any Whimsical Ideas by Pam polishes?  I have one other that I swapped for but I'd love to know your favorites so I can add some to my wishlist.

Until next time,

Sara

*This polish flew all the way from the UK to live with me.  See nice people do still exist.*

Zoya Aurora

Sun
Good morning and happy Monday!  Other than this mani I'm showing you today I didn't do much this weekend.  My youngest has two ear infections and our weather was freakishly cold, for us anyway, so we stayed in.  Today I have Zoya Aurora with an accent nail of Zoya Storm.  Aurora is just gorgeous.  It was perfect in just two coats.  In the sun this mani was amazingly sparkly.  You can see some of that sparkly in the sun picture.

Shade
So even though Zoya Logan is still my favorite from the Ornate collection, Aurora is next in line.  Do you have a favorite from the Ornate collection?  Have a great day!

*I bought this polish for myself using a coupon.  The coupon savings payed for my first Layla.*

Sation Seriously Slate & Tall Dark and Has Some

Sun
Hi everyone!  This post was supposed to be up earlier but between sick kids, a sick husband and trying to take care of them all, I can't seem to get back into a regular blogging schedule.  Today I have two Sation polishes that I picked up at TJ Maxx.  This is two coats of Seriously Slate, a very pretty shimmery dark gray, and two coats of Tall Dark and Has Some on my accent nail.  Seriously Slate was pretty easy to apply.  I'm still learning how to use the jelly like finish of the lastest Sations I've picked up.  The brush on these is wide so I have a little trouble getting clean lines around my cuticle.  Tall Dark and Has Some is so cool you guys.  It's a lightly tinted blue base with black and blue shreds and some little glitters thrown in for good measure.

Shade

I'm still loving all these new Sations.  The glitters they've released have an indie feel to them without the indie price tag.  Do you have a favorite Sation?  Mine would definitely be Oh My Oceania.

Have a great Friday!

*I bought these polishes while creeping out some lady because I had to stand kinda close to her at the checkout to look at the polishes*

NOPI Sweet Dreams

Shade

Good morning!  Shortly before Christmas I was out doing some last minute shopping with a friend.  We stumbled upon a new display of the NOPI Selena Gomez line.  Since I was Christmas shopping I limited myself to one.  Of course I haven't been able to find them since and the store we were at is too far from my house for casual polish shopping.  Sweet Dreams is a clear base with small purple glitters and bigger teal and silver hexes.  It's so pretty.  Even my non polish obsessed friend (Hi Erin!) bought one.

Sun

I layered one coat of Sweet Dreams over Rimmel I Lilac You and Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Breezy Blue.  I found the Rimmel in a new display at Walgreens.  It has a pretty good formula and was opaque in two coats.  Breezy Blue took three coats and I'm not convinced that I like it.  Can't really say why I don't like it but I don't.  There are a few more from this line I'd like to pick up if I can ever find them again.  Do you have a favorite from the Selena Gomez line?

Have a great day!

Sara

*I got this polish in my Christmas stocking.  So technically Santa gave it to me.*

My Vegas Nails!

Hey lovlies!  Today's post features the nails that I wore on my recent trip to Vegas.  This is China Glaze Running in Circles with Water You Waiting For sponged on using an eye shadow applicator.  Running in Circles is the most amazing green polish I own.  China Glaze does these glass flecks so well.  I used two coats for this manicure but in retrospect I should have used three.  I don't have any pictures of this in the sun because you could see major vnl and they looked terrible.  Then I sponged on Water You Waiting For.  I can't wait to wear this polish on its own.

Mr. MLiP loved these nails and I got several compliments on my trip.  Plus it wore like iron.  No chipping or anything while we were gone.  Do you have a favorite China Glaze glass fleck?  I feel like I should own them all.  It's my favorite polish finish.

Until next time,

Sara

*These are my very own polishes.  No one gave them to me.  Well, the girl at Sally's did but I have her money, so it doesn't count.*

Cult Nails Disciplined

Hello!  Happy Wednesday.  Another quickie post for you today.  I'm completely in love with gray polishes so I knew I'd love Cult Nails Disciplined from the beginning.  Disciplined is a sheer gray with pink, blue and purple shimmer.  It's buildable to a point but as you can see I still have a bit of vnl after four coats.  I think next time I'll put Zoya Dove or Carey under it.  Sheerness aside I freakin love this polish.  My accent nail is Dollish Polish Girls Rule, Boys Drool.  The Dollish is made up of pink and purple matte glitters.  It was a limited edition but I'd be willing to bet it's pretty similar to Ninja Polish Girly Floam if you're interested.

Again not my best pictures but the sun has been inconsistant at best.  What do you think of this combination?  I really like it and want to wear it again soon with some underpants :)

Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought this polish all by myself.*
