Zoya Julie

Shade
Happy Saturday!  Today I have Zoya Julie from the LE Zang Toi trio.  I have been searching high and low for the perfect shimmery purple.  I had pretty much given up when Zoya released this trio for fashion week.  I normally shy away from showing you things that aren't easy to find but even though this is currently sold out, it may be out there for swaps.  Plus there is a good chance Zoya may bring it back for the spring collection.  This is two coats of Julie and it was amazingly perfect.  It is exactly the purple I was looking for.  Zoya describes it as an icy cool lilac and I think that's dead on.  Trixie came with the trio so I added a half moon accent to my ring finger.

This mani prompted a five minute discussion with Mr. MLiP where I tried to explain accent nails.  He just doesn't get it.  Every time I do an accent nail he ask's "Why do you want one nail that's different?". Boys I tell ya!  I hope you are all having a great Saturday.  I unfortunately, have to go to work later today.

China Glaze Immortal & Make a Spectacle

Hi everyone!  Quick post for you today.  Since I first saw the China Glaze Halloween collection photos I knew I needed to have Immortal and Make a Spectacle.  I suck at waiting though so my friend Janelle from Heartfully, Janelle was kind enough to hunt them down for me at a local supply store.  Immortal is a cool gray with some multi colored shimmer in it.  The colored shimmer is hard to see but it gives the polish some nice depth.  Make a Spectacle is a cool glitter kind of like Snowglobe but colored similarly to Luxe and Lush.  I put two layers of Make a Spectacle on two fingers.  MAS is a little thick and my topcoat shrunk it up a bit because I forgot to wrap my tips.  That's what happens when I try to carry on a conversation with Mr. MLiP while doing my nails and watching tv.

All the photos were taken in the shade or under overcast skies.  The sun pictures I took completely washed out MAS so you couldn't see it at all.  I can't wait to try out MAS with CG Riveting.  I think it's going to look really cool.  Have a happy Tuesday!

Nails Inc Baker Street & Zoya Maisie

Shade

Hello!  Is everyone having a good afternoon?  I know it's almost fall and a lot of folks are starting to transition to fall colors but here in Phoenix it's still really warm.  Supposed to be 105 or so tomorrow.  I'm still wearing a lot of bright, bright colors.  Today is Nails Inc Baker Street (pretty much the best bright blue ever) and Zoya Maisie.  My nails look like little water scenes.  Love might be an understatement for this mani.  Baker Street has the most perfect formula ever.  Two super easy coats and it was flawless.  Maisie is a blue/green flakie in a translucent blue base.  I used one coat of Maisie.

Sun
The shade pictures came out so much better.  It was so hard to capture any of the blue/green shift of the flakies.  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to stop by my facebook page and share your mani pics with me.

Sassy Lacquer Pick a Pumpkin

Sun
Hi lovlies!  Today I have a polish that I am super excited about.  Sassy Lacquer is an indie brand created by Carrie from the blog Reflections, Sassy Nails and Silly Diversions.  Carrie released her first collection this past April and has been going strong ever since.  She has new collections out every few months or when the inspiration strikes her.  All the polishes are made by hand in Florida and are 3 free.

Shade
Today's polish is from her new fall/Halloween collection.  This is Pick a Pumpkin.  Basically it is a pumpkin in a bottle.  This just screams fall to me, which living in Phoenix might be as close as I get.  Pick a Pumpkin is a clear base with micro brass and yellow glitters, small orange and green glitters, and small orange matte glitter.  Since it has a clear base I layered it over a darker color.  To give it more of a fall feel I used Color Club Rebel Spirit, a dark brown, on three fingers and Color Club With Abandon on my ring finger.  I used With Abandon to see if the sparkle in it made any difference in Pick a Pumpkin.  It really didn't, maybe just a touch more shimmer showing.  I used one and a half coats of Pick a Pumpkin.  I wanted just a hair more glitter than one coat gave but didn't want to over do it.

I know it's a lot of pictures but I just couldn't pick my favorite.  You can purchase Sassy Lacquer here and find it on facebook here.  Carrie also does custom orders, so if you have something in mind drop her an email at sassylacquer@gmail.com.  I'll have a review of one of her winter polishes in just a few weeks.  It's amazing and I can't wait to share it with you.  Go check out Sassy Lacquer and tell her I said hi!

*Pick a Pumpkin was sent to me by Sassy Lacquer for review.  My review is my honest opinion of the product*

Zoya Natty

Hey guys!  Did you have a good weekend?  We had lots of fun here in the MLiP house.  Both boys had their first soccer games of the season.  For my 4 yr old it was his first soccer game ever.  I have a great photo to show you after the polish talk.  I also saw my first 3D movie today, Finding Nemo.  I love Dori so much.  Anyhow, today I have Zoya Natty to show you.  Now the photo isn't the best because the sun disappeared for 4 days.  That's unheard of for Phoenix this time of year.  Natty took two coats to be absolutely perfect.  The formula was fantastic.  Natty is a dusty medium blue.  I used the saran wrap technique on my accent nail.  I painted two coats of Zoya Carey and let it dry.  Then one coat of Natty and I used a balled up piece of saran wrap to remove some of the polish.  I love this super easy nail art technique.

Have you tried this type of nail art yet?  What are your favorite color combos for this?  I hope you have a great Monday.  And as promised here is a picture of Beckett trying to do a jumping jack.  Mr. MLiP caught B in mid air.  I love this picture so much.

A Mostly OPI Manicure

Sun
Hey lovlies!  How is everyone doing?  It's been raining here for the past several days.  It's just crazy.  I live in Phoenix for goodness sake.  It's supposed to be sunny and over 100 degrees here right now.  So after this my next few post may have less than perfectly lit photos.  I rely on the sun to take them so I may not even post what I've done the last few days.  Now on to why you're all here.  This lovely mani is  two coats of OPI I Vant to Be a Lone Star with CND Icy Blue Shimmer on top of that.  My accent nail is OPI Gone Gonzo.  I'm obsessed with my shimmers.  They really add a lot to so many colors.

Sun

So what do you think?  Do you have a favorite CND effect?  Violet Shimmer is my favorite for sure.  Don't forget to check out my blog sale while you're here :)  Until next time...

Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday.  Today I have a polish to show you that you've all seen a ton but that's okay because it's so cool.  I'm a sucker for white polishes like this.  Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker is a white polish with different color and size glitters.  There's red, blue, yellow and some green in there.  It honestly looks just like those huge jawbreakers you can buy at the candy store.  This is three coats of Jawbreaker.  Next time just to speed things up I may do a coat of white first then two of the polish but three coats was still really workable.  My pictures were taken in overcast skies unfortunately. It's normally sunny all the time here but we're having some freak storm and I haven't seen the sun in two days.

I'm sure you all know where to go to buy Pretty & Polished polishes but here's the link to the etsy shop.  I hope you all have a great day!

Orly Go Deeper

Shade

Good morning!  How was your long weekend?  We had a great, relaxing weekend here.  That's my favorite kind.  Today I have a polish that I've been wanting since I first saw a swatch of it a while back.  Someone described it as a toned down teal version of Across the Universe (but I can't remember who).  I knew it had to be mine but I couldn't find it anywhere.  Even online it only came up on Orly's website and was over $10 with shipping.  I'm not sure that it's been released yet to regular retailers.  My friend, Heartfully, Janelle, offered to look while at one of our favorite nail supply stores and they had it.  So freakin excited and it was cheap.  So take a look.  This is two coats of Go Deeper over one coat of China Glaze Custom Kicks.  This polish really changes depending on what you put it over.  I tried it on a wheel over Zoya Ibiza and it looks like a completely different polish.

Sun

Major swoon going on over here.  I love this polish so much.  What do you think of the Orly Glam FX that have been coming out?  I have a few but this is my favorite.  Have a great Tuesday!

KBShimmer Watercolor

Sun

Hello!  Is everyone enjoying the long weekend?  We've just been hanging out, having some family time.  We did family movie night last night and the boys picked The Three Stooges for us to watch.  Not my favorite but they liked it.  Anyway on to the reason you're here.  Today I have KBShimmer Watercolor to show you.  Supposedly Watercolor can be worn on it's own in three or so coats but I really don't like wearing that much glitter so I layered two coats of Watercolor over China Glaze Splish Splash.  I really liked this mani.  The formula of Watercolor was great.  Plenty of glitter payoff and no super bald spots.

Shade
I really enjoyed wearing this color.  Do you have a favorite KBShimmer polish?  I'm really wanting Elle right now.  Have a great Sunday!
