Sinful Colors Neptune

Sinful Colors has a new collection out called Castaway. It has some really pretty polishes in it. I picked up three of them. Today I have Neptune to show you. Neptune is a gorgeous blue shimmer polish. My pictures today are showing three coats with topcoat. Originally I had on two coats but the next morning I could see some bald spots. Maybe someone more careful than me could get away with two. Either way it is so pretty! Take a look and let me know what you think.

Shade

I am just in love with this color. The formula was good, which sometimes I have trouble with Sinful Colors. I can't wait to show you the others. Have you picked up any of these yet?

Have a great day!

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes

First I should say that I am a huge Hunger Games fan. I've read the trilogy a few times and just love it. So when it was announced that China Glaze was doing a Hunger Games collection I knew I'd have to have most of them. Today I have Smoke and Ashes to show you. It is an amazing black glass fleck with blue/green shimmer in the right light. The formula was outstanding as well. Two coats made it perfect. You might be able to get away with one thicker coat if you are careful. I added Luxe and Lush, a mylar flakie, to the accent finger. Love! I don't really know that my photos are doing this polish justice but trust me, it is gorgeous. Check it out!

This last photo was taken in the sun. The others were in the shade. I honestly liked how this looked in the shade better.

So have you read the Hunger Games? If you have, do you have any other books to recommend that I may like just as much? Can't wait to show you guys the rest that I've picked up. Have a great day!

Sinful Colors Slate and Winterberry

Today I have a quick post of a couple of Sinful Colors that go together so well. Slate is a shimmery gray and Winterberry is a shimmery, dusty purple color. Sadly these never did show up at stores in my area but a lovely girl from a facebook group sent them to me. Sadly I had a little shrinkage from my Seche Vite. Top photo is in the sun and bottom is in the shade.

I really like Sinful Colors. Lots of choices and a great price point.

Have a great day!

Dollish Polish Expecto Patronum

Good morning everyone!

Today's polish is something kinda fun. I love Harry Potter. If someone did a Harry Potter collection kinda like the Hunger Games one, I would be all over it. So when I came across the Dollish Polish Etsy shop I couldn't resist buying Expecto Patronum. EP is a gorgeous, white jelly polish with micro glitter and teal hex glitter. This is three coats and it looks more opaque in the pictures than real life. Next time I wear this I will probably layer it over white cream. Some nails had much more hex glitter than others, like my thumb, but overall I love this. Check it out and let me know what you think.

So I'm wondering. Which movie would you just freak out about if there was a nail polish collection put out? Have a great day and I'll talk with you soon.

Julep Marisa and Oscar

Good Monday morning my lovely readers. Just wanted to say a quick hi to all my new followers. I'm glad you're here. Today's color is a beautiful blue, Julep Marisa. Julep can be kinda hit or miss for my but I am totally in love with this color. This is two coats of Marisa and one coat of Oscar for an accent nail. While I love Marisa, Oscar is not for me. It's going in the swap pile.

Such a pretty blue. I love blue polishes. What is your favorite blue polish? I am loving China Glaze Frostbite right now. Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already.

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed

Today I have the gorgeous Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed. I'm so happy to have this polish. When trying to decide what color to layer TS over I really wanted something that would keep it as close to the bottle color as possible. I have nail wheels that I try different combinations out on. To go with this I have a notebook that I write down all the combos in so I won't forget what they are. I can't be the only one doing this right? Okay maybe I am. So I tried Toxic Seaweed over Sinful Colors Kissy, Cult Nails Let Me Fly and Finger Paints Scenery Greenery. The Finger Paints got me closest to the bottle color on TS. It did look really neat over Kissy as well. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. This is two coats of Scenery Greenery and two coats of Toxic Seaweed.

By the way, if you see anything that looks kinda foggy or blue on my nails it's because I dropped my bottle of Butter London Victoriana on the patio. I didn't realize it was on my nails until half way though taking pictures. I very carefully used some remover to clean it off and reapplied topcoat to save my mani.

shade

Do you see all those pretty coppery flakies in there? Love love love! Maria of Cult Nails mentioned that Toxic Seaweed may be limited edition due to trouble sourcing ingredients so head over and check it out soon.

Have a great Saturday!

Models Own Pinky Brown

Yay it's Friday! Today I have my very Models Own to show you. I did an awesome swap with a lovely lady in the UK. It started with my want of Pinky Brown and Max Factor Fantasy Fire and ended with a whole bunch of awesome British polishes. Pinky Brown is from Models Own Beetlejuice collection. I don't know if it's either pink or brown but it is gorgeous. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I know this picture is weird but I really wanted to show you this color change.

I am just in love with this polish! Can't wait to try the other Models Own I received. Do you own any of these polishes?

Have a great day!

Pretty and Polished Martian Salad

Recently I discovered that you could buy nail polish on Etsy. Oh boy! My wallet wishes I had never found this out. My nails, however, think this is amazing. One of my recent purchases was from Pretty and Polished. You can check out her blog here. The first polish I have to show you is Martian Salad. Now normally I'm not super into holos but this one is a gorgeous green and the name just sucked me in. I had to have it. This is three coats of Martian Salad. I think next time I may layer it over a similar green to conserve this beauty. Check it out!

My photo taking skills when it comes to holos are less than stellar but you can see the great holo in the bottle. It looks a lot stronger on my nails than the pictures show. If you are interested in Martian Salad or checking out her other great polishes click here for the Etsy shop. It looks like she should be restocking some colors tonight and the rest later this week.

So I'm curious who your favorite indie polish maker is. Someone on Etsy or somewhere else? I'd love to hear about it so I can check it out.

Have a great day!

A Lazy Valentines Manicure

Happy Valentines Day my lovely readers!

Today I have a super lazy mani for you. When my sister said that China Glaze Love Marilyn looked like Valentines in a bottle, I knew I had to wear it today. I majorly suck at nail art so this was perfect. My little sister is wearing it too. We're like twins which is funny because she already has a twin. Now fair warning, these photos are less than stellar. It rains about 4 days a year here and today is one of them. This is three coats of Love Marilyn. The close ups show a few sparse areas but in real life you can't see them. I think next time I wear this I will do a silver base, like Zoya Trixie first, then two coats of LM.

So what are you wearing today?

Have a great day!

CND Copper Shimmer

Today I have a super quick layering post for you. This is two coats of the lovely Zoya Kelly with one coat of CND Copper Shimmer. I absolutely love this mani. I tried Copper Shimmer over a bunch of colors and my favorites were Zoya Kelly and Essie Pretty Edgy. I'm sure I'll be wearing the Essie combo soon. Check it out!

This last picture was taken in the shade. The other two are in full sun. I liked this shimmer so much I ordered a few others that should be here this week. Yay! Do you own any CND effects? Which is your favorite?

Have a great Monday!

Butter London Knackered

Good morning!

Today I'm going to show you the polish that made my husband laugh at me. I swore based on swatches online that I didn't want Knackered. Plus I usually wouldn't spend $14 on a polish. I only have one other bl that I bought with a coupon. Well, the other night we were in Ulta and I was looking at it. It looks so amazing in the bottle. Since we had just gotten our tax refund, I splurged. I started with two coats of China Glaze First Matt and layered two coats of Knackered over it. I tried a few different combos on a nail wheel and I really liked how First Mate gave Knackered a little bit of blueness to it. Warning! There are a lot of pictures today. Now check it out and let me know what you think.

First two photos below are in the shade. The one above and the last two are in full sun.

So pretty! I really do like this. Can't wait to try it over a few other colors. Do you own Knackered? What's your favorite to layer it over?

Have a happy Friday and I'll talk with you soon.

A Whimsical Sea Spray

Good Morning!

Today I am wearing two coats of China Glaze Sea Spray topped with one coat of Revlon Whimsical. I'm sure you've all heard that Whimsical is supposed to be a dupe of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air. I don't know about that but I do know that I love Whimsical way more than I thought I would. I'll admit I picked it up because of all the hype but for under $4 I love it. Oh and I just adore Sea Spray as well. Two perfectly even coats for a beautiful mani all by itself.

Check it out!

Before wearing this I tried a bunch of layering combos on some nail wheels. Whimsical looked best over Sea Spray and China Glaze Kinetic Candy. So did you pick up Whimsical? What is your favorite color to layer it over?

Have a great day!

Bettina Ocean

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. A few weeks ago I purchased a couple Bettinas from a blog sale. Figured it was a good way to test out a couple before ordering a bunch from them. I bought Ocean, Peppermint and Marshmallow. The formula on Ocean was freaking amazing! Two coats were perfect. No streaking or pooling or running. Just lovely. These pictures are slightly bluer than Ocean is. The shade pictures look closest to me. I believe it has a touch more green than this. My camera just hates these colors. I couldn't even show you my really cool OPI Fly mani because it looked nothing like what was on my nails. Oh, I almost forgot! The accent nail is Sinful Colors Nail Junkie. Ocean was the perfect color to layer this over.

Ocean wore like iron and was all around awesome. I will definitely be ordering some more, starting with their Disco collection. If you haven't seen that yet you should google it right away.

Do you own any Bettina polishes? What is your favorite?

Have a great day!

SoFlaJo Pendragon

Hi Everyone!

Today I have something really cool to show you. Jody from SoFlaJo has recently started a polish collection to celebrate The Year of the Dragon. The collection consists of 8 color changing topcoats. The polishes are made from natural pigments and glitters. They are also 3 Free! Doesn't get much better than that.

When Jody asked what color I would like to review I left it up to her. They are all so gorgeous that it was hard to pick. I was sent Pendragon. It is so amazing! It has gold glitter and will shift from bronze to red/gold. Of course this could change based on what color you layer it over. I decided to go with black today but after seeing it I can not wait to try it over some other dark colors. Maybe a dark blue or purple. This is one coat of Pendragon over one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black and topcoat.

Check it out! All pictures are in full sun except for the one I marked as shade.

shade (above)

And here is the super cute packaging! I wish all nail mail was this fun and pretty!

You can purchace Pendragon and all the other amazing polishes here at SoFlaJo in the shop tab. They are $5 per 5ml bottle with great shipping rates. Go check it out! Right now!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
