Generic Halloween Nails

Hi everyone!  I have a super generic Halloween mani that I wore last week.  This is Julep Cleopatra, a wax finish black, and Julie G Tangerine Dream, an orange texture finish.  The formula on Cleopatra was actually really good.  I had been expecting a pain after reading some blogs but mine was even in two coats.   Tangerine Dream took three coats to not have VNL.

This was my first time wearing a texture polish on a full nail and I have to say it weirds me out.  I can't stop touching it.  Both polishes wore really well.  I was surprised by how well.  I hope you all have a fabulous Halloween.  If work tomorrow doesn't ruin my current mani, I'll be sure to show it to you even if it's after the holiday.

Until next time...

SinfulColors Crystal Crush Review

Press Sample

Sun

Hello!  Tonight I have two polishes from the new SinfulColors Crystal Crush line.  These are super pretty texture polishes.  First up I have Treasure Chest, a gorgeous sea foamy color with golden shimmer.  This is two coats.  I don't have a lot of experience with textures but this one was super easy to use and it dried crazy fast.  Since I was going to be wearing this for a few days I wanted to add an accent nail with some interest.  I used Purple Gleam, the other color I received for review, and then used Treasure Chest to make some dots.

Next up I have Purple Gleam.  It has some super pretty sparkles in it as well.  Again the formula was great, two coats and quick dry time.

Sun.  See the sparkle on my pointer?

I have to say that for my first full texture manis I really enjoyed wearing these.  It helped that I loved the colors so much.  The Crystal Crush collection retails for $2.99 and according to the press release is a Walgreens exclusive but I know some of my online polish buddies are finding them at Rite Aid as well.  There are 8 colors in this collection.  I'm definitely going to hunt down some more.  You can find SinfulColors on facebook here.  Are you a texture polish fan or are you just waiting for the trend to pass?  Let me know your favorite texture maker so I can check them out.

Until next time...

GeeWhiz Sunburnt

Press Sample

Good evening my lovely readers!  Tonight I have a brand new to me indie, GeeWhiz.  I met Jessi, the lady behind the brand, through a facebook group that we are both in.  She has been selling solvent resistant glitter mixes for the last year and is now jumping into the polish making side of things.  This lovely polish is Sunburnt, a clear base with fine red glitter, small blue and silver glitter, larger turquoise glitter and white squares.  As I've had skin cancer (non melanoma) this is as close to sunburnt as I'm allowed to get.  I've layered one coat over Barielle Magna Cum Laude Turquoise and Lemondrops.  I can not believe the glitter payoff in just one coat.  It spread on the nail evenly.  I did not have to fish for the larger glitter pieces.

Honestly I'm pretty impressed by my first experience with GeeWhiz.  I do want to mention that the base has a different smell to it than I'm used to.  Jessi did mention it to me ahead of time and is looking to change the base she uses.  Considering how easy this polish was to apply I'm really not bothered by it.  There are also a lot of neat glitter mixes in the shop.  Jessi sent one over to me but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.  I'll post up a review as soon as I do.  You guys should definitely click here to follow GeeWhiz on facebook.  That way you can stay on top of any flash sales or coupon codes.  You can also click here to check out the GeeWhiz etsy shop.  Now here's the best part.  I have a coupon code just for my readers.  You can use the code MYLIFEINPOLISH15OFF to save 15%.  I really want to pick up Tide Pool.  If you pick up a polish or three stop by my facebook page and show them off.

Have a great night!

Elevation Polish Echinops

Hi everyone!  Tonight I have a gorgeous purple holo to show you.  This is Elevation Polish Echinops with an accent of Dzhangi-Tau.  Echinops has the most amazing, even formula.  This is two coats plus topcoat.  The accent polish is from a recent LE duo from Elevation.

I'm pretty sure I've never met an Elevation that I don't like.  Her polishes are consistently great quality.  When I purchase an Elevation I know I'm getting a wonderful polish.  I hope you all enjoyed tonights mani.  Have a great tomorrow!

Polish Addict Nail Color Gianna

Hello!  Today's polish is from Polish Addict Nail Color.  This is Gianna, a soft pink subtle holo, with an accent of Summer Lovin', a white jelly with pink and green glitters.  Gianna has a good formula.  This is two coats with topcoat.  It applied evenly and smoothly.  Summer Lovin' took three coats and was pretty smooth with topcoat.  I can't wait to wear this again as a full mani.

All the pictures were taken in the sun.  I'm not the biggest light pink fan but if I'm going to wear it then I want it to sparkle.  I was lucky enough to swap a polish from my mystery box that wasn't very me for this pretty polish.  I love when a swap works out perfectly.  If you'd like to check out PANC for yourself click here to see the shop.   And if anyone feels like sending me Unicorn Love I wouldn't say no haha.  It just looks so pretty.

Have a great night and a wonderful tomorrow!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Monster's Tea at Tiffany's

Sun

Good morning!  Today I have a new to me indie, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, on the blog.  This gorgeous polish is Monster's Tea at Tiffany's, a Tiffany blue polish with a green to red/pink shift.  The green is easy to see and the red/pink is very subtle.  The formula and application on this polish was outstanding, stand up and jump for joy amazing.  Seriously it was fantastic.  My pictures show two coats and topcoat.

This is the only Blue-Eyed Girl I own so far but based on the formula I will definitely be buying more.  I just need that dang money tree to grow.

Have an awesome day!  Until next time...

Liquid Lacquer Review Part 2

*Press Sample

Hello!  Tonight I have part 2 of my Liquid Lacquer review.  You can find part 1 here as well as the saga of how long it took to get my polishes.  Just to update as of now I still don't have the two missing polishes but I was told they were mailed Wednesday so we shall see.  Now on to the polishes.  I have three polishes to show you today and again the quality of these was spot on.  Up first is Chocolate Ghost Chili, a brown polish with a subtle holo.  Pretty enough all on it's own then I took the bottle outside and the coolest pink/red color showed up in the polish.  Super neat for sure!  This is two coats with topcoat.  Both pictures were taken in the sun.

Next up is Kablam, an orange jelly with blue glitter.  Great glitter payoff with this one.  I used two coats and topcoat.  It was smooth to the touch with just one coat of topcoat.  This was a fun polish to wear.

Last one for today is Beautiful Mistake, a sheer purple jelly with different shapes, sizes and color glitters.  I decided to layer this one over a few different colors so you could see how different it could look.  I layered two coats of Beautiful Mistake over Sation Miss Emo Shun All on my pointer finger, Sation Tardy Tart on my middle and ring fingers and a black cream on my pinky.  My favorite combo is over Tardy Tart, that made it closest to the pretty purple base in Beautiful Mistake.

I hope you all enjoyed Part 2 of my review.  You can find Liquid Lacquer's shop here and on facebook here.  I hope you all have a great night.

LynBDesigns Am I Ginger?

Hellllooooo!  How is everyone tonight?  Tonight I have a gorgeous orange holo for you but first I must admit that I only bought this because I am a ginger.  This polish is from LynBDesigns Doctor Who line but I've never watched it.  I just thought the name was great.  This is Am I Ginger?.  I haven't always been the biggest holo lover but they are starting to grow on me.  The holo in this beautiful orange made me so happy.  This is two coats with topcoat then I stamped on a pumpkin using Wet n Wild Black Creme.  I managed to break my stamper right after this nail so it ended up being an accent nail mani.

I should also mention that I took these pictures after working all day.  We did three houses that day and I can't even believe that this held up.  I slapped on some cuticle products so you weren't subjected to that mess and took the pictures.  Now my other hand was a hot mess.  I broke a nail and had large chips on three fingers.

Until next time my dears...

*I bought this polish myself because I'm a ginger and I feel like I must own all the ginger referencing polishes*

Laquerhead Polish Fairy Frosting

Hi all!  Happy Sunday!  I'm a sucker for white polishes.  I love any white white polish that has a fun element to it.  Today's polish fits that bill for sure.  This is Laquerhead Polish Fairy Frosting, a white shimmer polish with a red shimmer (I used the word shimmer a lot but honestly couldn't come up with a better way to say it haha).  I tried Fairy Frosting on one nail on its own but it was a bit sheer for me, so my photos are two coats of Fairy Frosting over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Both pictures were taken in full sun.  I added Jordana Sequins as an accent nail because it just screamed to be used with Fairy Frosting.  I loved wearing this white with a twist polish.  I think it will be featured again in my 4th of July mani next year.  Lacquerhead is a favorite indie of mine.  The polish quality is outstanding, shipping is always super fast and Alischia is super friendly and nice.  I purchased this polish myself so I'm not just sucking up.  You can purchase this and so many other fun polishes in Lacquerhead's etsy shop and find her on facebook.  I hope you all have a great night.

Until next time...

Minnie's Cashmere Bathrobe

Sun

Good morning!  Today I have a two accent nail mani for you and honestly I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I like both polishes and I like them together but I'm not completely sold on two accent nails.  This is Essie Cashmere Bathrobe with OPI Minnie Style accent nails.  Originally I wasn't going to get Cashmere Bathrobe because even though I love grays, I already have a ton.  When I walked by it at the supply store I just couldn't resist.  Then a lovely nail polish friend of mine send me Minnie Style, with the squares (squeee) and I just knew I had to wear them together.

I had read some complaints about the formula on Cashmere Bathrobe but mine was really good.  Two coats made it perfectly opaque.  It was a bit on the thinner side but applied well.  Minnie Style on the other had was kind of a pain, too much base in relation to the amount of glitter.  I used two coats of Minnie Style but kept getting mostly clear polish on my brush.  There was a learning curve with this one for sure.

Shade
All in all this was a good mani, not great but good.  If you own Minnie Style what do you think of it?  Have a great Thursday everyone!

Liquid Lacquer Review

Hi everyone!  So before I get to the polish pictures I have a bit of a story for you.  Grab your favorite beverage and get comfy, here we go.  Liquid Lacquer offers a blogger package.  The way it works is for $20+shipping you get two pick out two polishes and she picks out two more and sends them to you for review.  I thought that was a cool way to get bloggers to review your polishes so I went ahead and filled out the form and was given the okay to order.  I picked out two polishes and submitted my order on August 9th.  At the same time LL was having a sale so I placed a separate order for two other polishes.  Shipping time for LL is 5-7 days business days.  At the end of that time frame I got a shipping notice then a couple of days later I got an email saying my shipping dc had been cancelled.  LL said on their facebook page that something had happened with paypal and she would fix it and get the polishes sent within a few days.  Some time goes by and I finally got a new dc.  After several days my dc had not updated past shipping info received.  I contacted LL and she asked me to give it a few more days.  Nothing ever happened so I was told the package would be resent and got yet another dc.  This was on a Thursday and by the following Monday it still hadn't updated past shipping info received.  My package finally moved and I received it a month after my initial order, on either Sept 10 or 11.  I was so relieved to have finally received it so I ripped into it at the bus stop waiting for my boys.  The two polishes I ordered separately were in there but the two I selected for the blogger package were not.  I did get some other great polishes to review but was a little miffed that after waiting that long I didn't get the two I originally picked for the review package.  So I contacted LL again and she told me that she had a problem with the form and was waiting on bottles but would send out the two polishes when she got them.  As of now I still don't have the original two I picked out.  Now if I hadn't paid for the blogger package I would just review whatever I was sent but since I paid for it I believe I should get the half that I was allowed to pick out.

So if you made it that far thank you so much!  With all that being said I honestly really like the polishes I've tried so far.  I'm going to show you three today and then I'll do another three in my next review.  I'm going to start with Tea For One, a cranberry holo.  The formula on this was amazing!!  Two coats and it was perfect.  The polish stayed were I put it, no running, pooling or dragging.

Next up is Ladie Eve, a soft gray jelly with different sizes of bright pink glitter and some lighter pink glitter.  I layered two coats of Ladie Eve over Zoya Carey.  I got plenty of glitter with each coat.

Lastly for today I have Too Late To Turn Back, a teal/turquoise that is just a bit frosty.  This polish was a bit harder to apply.  It took three coats to be opaque and it left a few brush strokes.  This was a bit thick.  It was almost like the base was meant to suspend glitters so it was on the thicker side.  That said, it is a pretty color.

So there you have it.  A super long story and some pretty, pretty polishes.  You can purchase Liquid Lacquer polishes here and can find LL on facebook here.  I really do like these polishes.  The quality is good.  Based on that I would like to give Liquid Lacquer another shot.  Once I have the other polishes I ordered I may consider placing another order.  If I do I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.  I hope you all have a great night.

Until next time...
