Halloween Nails

Happy Halloween!!!  I know you're probably on Halloween mani overload right now but I wanted to share mine.  After taking photos of this I realized my topcoat is full of bubbles.  Can't really see it in real  life but the pictures really show it.  I used a base of China Glaze Recycle, pretty much the perfect gray, then layered on Feenix Polish Candy Corn.  Candy Corn is awesome.  Yellow, orange and white glitter in a clear base.  It has pretty good coverage.  This is two coats of Candy Corn.  I only had to do a bit of dabbing on some areas that didn't have enough glitter.  My accent nail is a candy corn.  I know it's been done a lot but for me this is fancy nail art.  I loved it even though it got a bit thick.  Zoya Pippa may not have been the best yellow for the job but it was all I had.

My boys thought this mani was super cool.  We had a great time trick or treating tonight.  I hope you all had a great Halloween.

KKcenterhk Stamping Plate

Good morning!  Are you sick of all the Halloween posts yet?  I love seeing all the creativity in my blog reader.  Today I have a quick review of a stamping plate from kkcenterhk.com.  Here's the link for the plate I used today.  I had mixed results with this one, which is unusual for me.  The plates I've reviewed in the past have all worked well.  The web and the ghost stamped very well.  The pumpkin on my first finger would not come out clear no matter what I did.  It also had that weird smear spot underneath it that I couldn't avoid.  The image on my pinky is supposed to be a witch but no matter how I looked at it I couldn't see a witch.  I honestly wish I had just stamped the web on all my fingers.  I gave their stamper another shot but it wouldn't pick up the images.  Once I switched back to my normal konad stamper the images came up just fine.

I'm in love with the nail color under the stamping.  It just screamed Halloween.  I used China Glaze Orange You Hot? then used the saran wrap method with a black cream, Sinful Colors Black on Black I believe.  I just love the saran wrap method for simple, quick nail art.

I hope you have an awesome Tuesday.  Until next time...

Piggy Polish Lightmare

Sun

Hi lovlies!!  I'm going to have a few Halloween themed things for you the next few days.  I've been procrastinating so now I have to jam them all in.  Today's polish was an impulse buy at Ulta one afternoon.  It was sitting with some other Halloween themed polishes and makeup and I just couldn't resist.  Piggy Polish Lightmare is a gray (sometimes it kind of looked a little brown) and orange glitter.  I decided to layer it over Zoya Raven and I'm so glad I did.  One coat gave really good coverage but by the time I reached about the 7th finger the polish was super gloopy and thick.  It's a gorgeous polish but is definitely going to need some thinner next time I wear it.  *Edited to add*  To make this glitter smooth it took two coats of Gelous and a coat of HK Girl topcoat.  Super thirsty glitter :)

Shade
Regardless of the thick formula I really enjoyed this polish.  I got lots of compliments on it.  I like that is looked Halloweenish without being so in your face like the saran wrap/stamping mani I'm wearing right now.  You'll see that one soon :)  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I'd love to see your Halloween manis.  Feel free to share them over on my fb page.

Essie Bobbing for Baubles & Finger Paints Fall of Surprises

Sun
Hi lovelies!  How is everyone today?  Do you ever do an accent nail then later wish you'd done the whole mani that way?  That's the case with today's nails.  This is two coats of Essie Bobbing for Baubles with an accent nail using Finger Paints Fall of Surprises.  Bobbing for Baubles is a super dark navy.  Honestly it looked black a good majority of the time.  It had a great formula and was almost full coverage in one coat.  Fall of Surprises is a copper glitter.  This is one coat of FoS.  I really,  really wish I would have done the glitter on all my nails.  I really enjoyed this combo.

Shade
Do you have any other suggestions on what I could put under Fall of Surprises?  I really want to wear it again very soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Lacquerhead Polish My Boo & KKCenterHK Water Decals

Sun
Hello!  We are creeping closer to Halloween.  Tonight I have my first Halloween mani for you all to see.  I am a total sucker for all the milky white glitter polishes.  What makes this one even better is it's Halloween colors.  My Boo is a white jelly with different sizes of black, orange and purple glitter.  It's so freakin neat.  This is four coats (I know it sounds like a lot) of My Boo.  You could save yourself some coats by layering over a white but I like the squishiness of the jelly finish.  You lose some of that when it's layered.  The glitter payoff is phenomenal.  Never once did I worry that I wasn't getting enough glitter.

My accent nail is a water decal from kkcenterhk.com.  I've shown you others before and my thoughts on these are the same.  They rock!  So easy to use and the price is very good.  I used two coats of Milani White on the Spot, a two coater streak free white, then a layer of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu to soften up the starkness of the Milani.  After it was dry I applied the decal then my topcoat du jour Color Club 0-60.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

You can see this and the other polishes Lacquerhead Polish has to offer by clicking here to go to the etsy shop and here to check out her facebook page.  She's having a sale right now through Friday.  Save 25% using the code ILOVEMYFANS.  To see the water decals on kkcenterhk.com click here.  I'm really excited to order some Christmas/winter themed ones.  Remember if you order from kkcenterhk use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10%.

Thanks for stopping by,

Zoya Gei Gei & Piaf

Sun

Good morning and happy Friday!  I'm so glad the weekend is almost here.  I'm finally feeling better but sadly Mr. MLiP and one of the boys is sick now.  Anyway, today I have the other two polishes from the Zoya Zang Toi collection.  Zoya Gei Gei is a pale pink full of shimmer.  Zoya describes them as being icy and I'd say that's about right.  I've been wanting a full coverage pale pink shimmer for a while but for some reason the polish companies always make the pale pinks so sheer.  Gei Gei took three coats but it was opaque.  My accent nail is Zoya Piaf, basically the yellow version of the pink and purple in this collection.  Piaf also took three coats.  It wasn't quite as opaque as Gei Gei but really close.  Then I used Zoya Trixie to stamp over the whole thing.  Jury's still out on wether or not that was a good idea.

This mani was amazingly hard to photograph.  Seeing as how my photography skills are less than stellar this is what you get.  I hope you enjoyed this.  See you soon.

Sassy Lacquer Yeti Yeti Yeti

Hey guys!  Happy Wednesday.  Today I have the second Sassy Lacquer that I received for review.  Sassy Lacquer is handmade by Carrie of the blog Reflections, Sassy Nails, and Silly Diversions.  Yeti Yeti Yeti is a clear base packed with teal shimmer, white bars, medium and fine white hexes, fine silver glitter and micro fine teal glitter (I stole all that right from the description in the Sassy Lacquer shop).

Sun

I layered this over several colors on a nail wheel.  I tried Zoya Charla and Dove, China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic, Recycle and Pelican Gray, among others.  In the ene I went with CG Recycle with and accent nail using Jessica Frost at All Costs, a dark teal.  I used two coats of Yeti Yeti Yeti.  Now on to what you're here for, the photos.

This polish is totally drool worthy.  It makes the Jessica, which is super similar to Zoya Cynthia, sparkle.  Now if you're like me and not a huge bar glitter fan, I have good news.  Carrie does custom orders.  I received this mini to review.  I ordered a full size of Yeti Yeti Yeti a few weeks ago and asked for the bars to be left out.  Carrie said that was no problem at all and mixed up my polish.  I had it in my hot little hands super fast.  Awesome polish with awesome customer service.  It's a win/win situation.  Go check out the Sassy Lacquer shop right away.  Click here for the shop link and here for the facebook page.

I really hope you all like this as much as I do.  Are you looking forward to winter collections coming out?  I am!!

Zoya Holly & Feenix Polish Halloween Party

Sun

Hi everyone!  I'm back from vacation but I'm sick so today's post is gonna be a quick one.  I've had Zoya Holly sitting around for a while now but am so glad I finally used it.  What a gorgeous, shiny green.  It was perfect in two coats.  Zoya really nailed it with this perfect holiday green.  I added Feenix Polish Halloween Party on my middle finger per my 9yr olds request.  Halloween Party is a really cool glitter.  It has purple, green and orange glitter in a black jelly base.  I have many more plans for this one but for now it's just an accent.  The black jelly really didn't change the color of Holly at all.  It was also super easy to apply.  No dabbing and swirling around the glitter with this one.

Shade
Feenix Polish has some really neat polishes up right now.  Click here to visit her etsy shop.  I also ordered Candy Corn and can't wait to try it out.  What's your favorite Halloween polish?

Have a great day!

Sassy Lacquer Wizard's Fire

Sun

Hey all!  I have a super cool polish for you tonight but first I wanted to let you know that I won't have another post for about a week.  Taking my boys on a little trip to visit some family and I forgot to schedule some posts.  Sorry about that.

Shade

Okay so on to tonights awesome polish.  This is Sassy Lacquer Wizard's Fire.  I've reviewed some other Sassy Lacquers here before.  This one though I bought myself after seeing another bloggers review.  Wizard's Fire is a dusty purple jelly with teal shreds and copper shimmer.  Are you freakin kidding me?!?  It's so cool.  This is two layers of WF over one coat of Julep Charlotte.

Another sun shot
I did have a few shreds that wanted to stick up some but I just used the slanty side of my orange stick to push them down as I was going along.  No big deal.  I used a coat of Gelous then topcoat and it was pretty smooth.  You can purchase Wizard's Fire here.  This polish is so worth picking up.  I hope you all have a great week and I'll be back soon.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Jack

Sun

Hello!  (Am I the only one that hears that in Heidi Klum's voice?  I am?)  Today I have my very first RBL polish.  RBL is a little too pricey for me at $20 a bottle.  I got a good deal on this on from Copious though.  I probably won't buy any others.  I'd like you to meet Jack.  Jack is a neat green polish with a cool blue shimmer.  Unfortunately for me, Jack's shimmer, that is so abundant in the bottle, only shows in direct sunlight.  Inside it just looked like any other blue green polish.  The formula was pretty good but I was expecting amazing based on what all the RBL lovers out there are always saying.  The sunlight picture of Jack is amazing.  The shade picture shows you what this polish looks like 99% of the time.

Shade
The other downside for me was Jack didn't even make it through one shift at work.  I had big chips and tons of tip wear.  I know there are tons of RBL fanatics out there but as of this mani I'm not one of them.  Sadly with the price tag on these polishes I'm afraid I may not get to try any others in order to change my opinion.  On the upside I was able to sell this polish within a few minutes of listing it up on a swap/sell board.

Have a great day!
