Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Far From the Sun Collection

*Press Sample*

Hey guys!  Today I have something that I am SOOO excited to show you.  You all know that Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is one of my favorite indies so when Julie, the lovely lady behind the brand, asked me to review some of her new summer collection I may have squealed and and done a happy dance.  Today I have five of the eight piece collection, Far From the Sun, which was inspired by beach sunrises and sunsets.  If you'd like to see the photos that inspired this gorgeous collection click here and it will take you to the pintrest board.  Make sure you come right back to see all the pretty I have to show you!

Quick note from Julie before we dive right in, these polishes were designed to be opaque in one or two coats so they may need to be thinned to your desired consistency.  I will say that I didn't find any of them to be overly thick, except the glitter.  However it's a full coverage glitter that only takes two coats and dries with a texture.  I expected it to be thick.  Now hold on to you hats...lets get to the polish!

I'm going to start of with my favorite of the five I received, Born of the Sea, a green holo with pink and teal sparking shimmers.  Let me just say that I'm taking all the color descriptions right from the info that I got about the collection.  I stink at describing things so it's really better this way.  This is two coats of the smoothest, most even formula topped with top coat.  I'm going to be repetitive with today's post but the formula on these is so great!  Also I've tried out a few random macro, single nail shots.  I'm not completely sold on them so let me know what you think pretty please.

Next up is my second favorite, Fare the Wind, a blue leaning purple holo with a blue to purple shift and red micro flakies.  This again is two coats and top coat.  Formula was very similar to Born of the Sea.

The third polish is Intersecting Lines in the Sand, a yellow-gold holo with a blue to purple to pink shift.  This is two coats plus top coat again.  The formula is nice and creamy just like the other holos I've shown you.

Next up is Dawn Breaks, a red holo with gold and purple shimmers.  This one could be a one coater if you were paying better attention then I was when I did my nails.  So I have two coats and top coat.  This pulls a bit pinker than red on me but dang it's just so pretty!

Lastly I have Sail Her Don't Sink Her a full coverage, texture polish.  It's made up of pink, purple, red, gold, and orange microglitters in a clear base.  This was completely opaque in two coats.  This polish was on the thick side but that's what made it have such good coverage.

This polish looks amazing top coated but sadly you're just going to have to take my word for it.  I wasn't able to get a good picture of it.  However Sail Her Don't Sink Her goes so very well with Intersecting Lines in the Sand.  So today you get to see a rare shot of my right hand.  Don't hold the hand pose against me.  I can barely hold the camera with my left hand and this just felt all sorts of awkward.

These two just look so pretty together!  There are three other polishes in this collection, Chlorine Light, If You're a Seascape and Ocean Warmed by the Sun.  I'm definitely going to need to pick them up.  The collection releases July 20th at 3:30 edt.  The linear holos will be $12, the micro glitter will be $8.50 and the whole set of 8 polishes will be $98 with domestic priority shipping.

Here are the links you need:

I can't wait for this collection to come out so I can pick up the rest of the polishes!  Do you have a favorite?  Drop me a comment and let me know what you think.  Be sure to like Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer on facebook to keep up with new releases.

Have a great weekend!

Sara
