Sation Feliz Navi-Doll

Hi everyone!  Today I have a mani for you that I'm currently wearing.  Two things about this mani, first it looks better in person and two it needs some underpants.  This is Sation Feliz Navi-Doll, a super pale, almost white, sparkly gray.  It's gorgeous in the bottle and on the nail but it needs something under it.  This is three coats and as you can see I have serious VNL.  My accent nail is Pretty & Polished Sand Art.  I just used the polish brush to lightly put some one near the bottom of my nail and brushed it up towards the top.

These photos were taken in mostly sunny skies.  Not my best mani but oh well.  You take the good with the bad right?  Happy New Year kids!

*Mr. MLiP actually bought this polish for me.  I snuck it on the counter last minute at TJ Maxx when he was paying for something else :) *

Layla Softouch Stone (03)

Sun

Hey look I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.  Sorry for the break.  Mr. MLiP is on vacation and that always throws my schedule, less time to polish and post.  Today I have a polish that I picked up on a whim when I was at Ulta.  I didn't even realize it was a matte until I got it home.  I'm just really attracted to the grayish purply colors.  This is two coats of Stone.  This has a great formula for a matte.  Right on par with my ManGlaze polishes.

Sun

There is a little bit of pull on my middle finger.  I don't know if I didn't wrap my tips well enough or if it just pulled back overnight.  For a matte this did take a while to completely dry.  What I love is that no matter how much lotion or cuticle oil I put on it didn't lessen the matte effect.  So what do you guys think?  Do you own any of these Layla polishes?

Have a great night,

Sara

*I bought this polish all by myself while shopping with a friend.  I may have been swayed by her saying "That is pretty" when I held it up.*

China Glaze Little Drummer Boy & Glitter All the Way

Hello!  Quick post today about an awesome color that has been hanging out in my untrieds forever.  China Glaze Little Drummer Boy is a gorgeous dark blue with an amazing formula.  This one could easily be a one coater but since I didn't wrap my tips with the first coat, I did two.  I added a bit of China Glaze Glitter All the Way to my accent nail using an eyeshadow applicator to sponge it on.  It's a really dense glitter so it didn't work out quite the way I wanted but I like it anyhow.

Not the best pictures I've ever taken but it was weirdly overcast but still sunny outside.  I don't know what year Little Drummer Boy came out but I do know it's awesome.  I also think it would be good for stamping.  Do you have a favorite China Glaze holiday polish?

Sara

*I purchased this polish myself a long time ago.  Then it sat in my untrieds for atleast a year.  I have a problem, I know*

Above the Curve Oh The Who-manity

Sun

Hey lovelies and happy Saturday!  Are you all done with your Christmas shopping?  I am thanks to a late night outing with a friend last night.  Now I just have to wrap them.  I hate wrapping things.  I usually try to bribe Mr. MLiP to do it.  Today I have a polish from a new to me indie line.  This is Oh The Who-manity.  It is a white based polish with red and green glitter in multiple sizes.  What's cool about this polish is it has a pink shimmer that you can really see in most lighting.  This polish is super sheer so even after three coats I still had crazy visible nail line.  I was lost on what to layer it over because usually when you layer these type of polishes over white they loose all their squishiness.  So I finally landed on Zoya Zeenat for my base color.  This may not be for everyone but I really liked the final result.  My mani was this weird pinky/grayish color.  A bit odd just like me :)  This is two coats of Who-manity over two coats of Zeenat.  It has great glitter payoff and everything laid flat on my nails.

So what do you think of my slightly odd Christmas mani?  I'm diggin' it.  You can check out Above the Curve on facebook by clicking here.  Have a great day!

Barielle Lindsay's Dancin'

Sun
Hi everyone.  How is your day going?  I'm busy getting my house cleaned up for my in-laws visit.  Today I have the third polish from the Barielle's Carnival Fiesta collection.  This is Lindsay's Dancin'.  It's a very pretty red with a great formula.  It was easy to control and didn't require much clean up.  It was opaque in two coats.  This may not be the most unique color but I don't own many reds so it's a great addition to my collection.

I hope you enjoyed today's quickie post.  Have a great day!

China Glaze Glistening Snow

Sun
Hello!  Tonight I have my favorite holiday polish released this year.  I'm so in love with China Glaze Glistening Snow.  This polish looks completely amazing on.  The photos just don't do it justice.  This is three coats of Glistening Snow, a coat of Gelous and topcoat.  It was totally smooth.  The little holo bits make this polish so sparkly.  I included a blurry picture down below so you can see how spectacularly sparkly it is.  Everyone at work loved this, even my manager, which I thought was weird.  Customers commented on it and people were writing down the name to go find it.

Shade

Whoa sparkle in the sun!

Sun
I pretty sure this will be the color I wear on Christmas Day.  Maybe with a little red stamping on it?  Depends on if I can turn up a red in my stash that stamps well.  I don't own many reds.  Does anyone know if Zoya Elisa is good for stamping?

What was your favorite holiday polish this year, mainstream or indie?  Have a great day!

*I purchased this polish with Mr. MLiP's money but ssshh, I'm sure he doesn't know that*

Sonnetarium Peppermint Kiss

Sun
Hello lacquer lovers!  I have another Sonnetarium polish for you today.  This is Peppermint Kiss from the winter collection.  Peppermint Kiss is a slightly pink, milky jelly with several sizes of red, white and green glitter.  I didn't want to layer this and lose the squishy jellyness so this is three coats.  Like most jellys it was a tad streaky at first but built up really well.  This polish is packed with glitter.  I mean seriously packed full of glitter.

I got a ton of compliments on this at work tonight.  It really is stunning.  I'm sure it's going to be terrible to take off but I'll just have to pull out the foil.  If you'd like to check out Sonnetarium polishes click here to go to their shop.  Be sure to check out the Charity Prototype section.  I got two in the mail today and they are outstanding.

Until next time,  have a great night.

Zoya Logan & A Christmas Tree

Shade

Hi everyone!  Today I have a polish for you that I was on the fence about for a while.  I just wasn't sure if I needed it based on the online swatches I looked at.  I could not have been more wrong.  Zoya Logan is amazing.  My camera completely freaked out in the sun taking pictures of this mani.  Couldn't handle all the sparkle.  This is two coats of Logan.  The formula was outstanding.  Really, really easy to apply.  I decided to attempt a Christmas tree accent nail.  I don't remember where I saw this done first, but I've seen it all over everywhere lately.  The base of my accent nail is Zoya Ziv, another amazing formula.  Two coats gave perfect coverage.  To make the tree I used scotch tape to make the straight lines on the sides and striping tape for the other lines.  I used my dotting tool with Zoya Suri and Elisa to finish is off.

Sun
I don't do much nail art because I pretty much stink at it.  I'm okay with being a swatch only type of blog.  However I was really excited when this mani worked out just like I thought it would.  Have you done any Christmas manis yet?  Feel free to share them with me over on my facebook page.

Until next time...

*I purchased this polish with my very own money.  I even used a coupon to score a great deal*

Barielle Rio's Rockin' Bands

Sun

Good morning and happy Monday!  Got a pretty Barielle polish from the new Carnival Fiesta collection for you today.  This is Rio's Rockin' Bands.  Rio's is a purple magenta color with a metallic/frost finish.  The formula is great and was opaque in two coats.  It can be a bit brush strokey so use a soft hand and few passes over the nail to minimize them.  My accent nail is two coats of Barielle Ebony's Rainbow, a very pretty but sparse multi colored glitter.

Shade
So what do you think?  Do you like finishes like this or do they make you run for the remover?  I'm kinda on the fence about them.  I hope you all have a lovely day.

Sonnetarium Lenten Rose

Shade

Happy Friday lovelies!  I'm so glad the weekend is here.  Makes me a happy polish nut.  Sometimes when I think up my layering/color combinations they don't always work out.  I'm happy to report this is not the case with this mani.  I'm so in love with this.  Today for your viewing pleasure I have Essie Where's My Chauffer with an Illamasqua Jo'mina accent nail all covered in a single coat of Sonnetarium Lenten Rose.  I've showed you the wonderful Where's My Chauffer before and Jo'mina is basically the perfect purple.  Lenten Rose is an amazing glitter made up of light pink, white and iridescent glitters in a clear base.  I got all this great glitter in one coat.  Yep just one coat.

Shade

Sonnetarium make very high quality polishes.  The application is sublime and the formula is amazing.  There was no clumping or dabbing or swirling.  Lenten Rose just slid right on.  I have other polishes from this brand that are the same amazing quality.  I know I'm gushing but these are seriously amazing and well worth every cent.  Click here to go check out their shop and here to give them a like on facebook.  I think Lenten Rose is out of stock currently but there are lots of other lovelies to look at.  Be sure to check out charity prototype section.  I ordered two this morning and can not wait until they get here.

Have a great weekend!

Barielle Wanna Samba?

Shade
Good morning!  I recently recieved the Barielle Carnival Fiesta set.  Today I have my favorite to show you.  Barielle Wanna Samba? is a metallic purple gray.  In the sun it looks mostly gray although in the picture below you can see a bit of purple sparkle on my index finger.  In the shade it flashed all sorts of purple.  All the photos are two coats with topcoat.  The application was super easy, not too thin and not too thick.  I seriously can't wait to wear this again.

BadAss Polish Dusk

Sun
Today I have my favorite of the four polishes from BadAss Polish.  It was also the hardest for me to photograph.  I took so many pictures.  Dusk is made up of dark blue glitters with gold glitters mixed it.  I chose to layer this but it would definitely be opaque in three coats.  I just happened to like the way it looked over black.  This is two coats of Dusk over black on all fingers except my ring finger.  That is just one coat of Dusk.  The formula is on the thicker side but was super easy to control and had amazing coverage.  I seriously don't have the words to describe how much I love this.  I used a coat of Gelous and then topcoat and it was as smooth as any cream polish.

BadAss Polish Bling

Shade
Happy Monday!  I had such a busy weekend.  To make up for it I'm doing nothing today.  Seems reasonable to me :)  This is the third BadAss Polish I have to show you.  Bling was inspired by the creator's husbands wedding ring.  It has several sizes of gold and silver glitter.  The formula was the same great quality as the others.  Seriously you guys, the formula and application on all of these has been outstanding.  I decided to layer one coat over Zoya Elisa.  I love the result.  It looks like a sophisticated holiday manicure.  When I was deciding what to wear this over I tried several things.  It also looks great over blue and purple, specifically Zoya Song and Suri.

This was so hard to photograph in the sun.

BadAss Polish Go Pack Go

Shade
Hello!  I'm back with the second polish I recieved from BadAss Polish.  This is Go Pack Go.  This lovely green and yellow glitter polish is inspired by the Green Bay Packers.  The polish has small green glitter and larger yellow hexes in a clear base.  Just as with America's Team, the application and formula of Go Pack Go is very good.  It was super smooth to apply and I didn't have to fish for the yellow hexes at all.  All the pictures are one layer of Go Pack Go over Zoya Ibiza with topcoat.

I think you could wear this polish on it's own with three coats.  I really love it layered over the dark blue though.  BadAss Polish's etsy shop is now open, click here for the link.  You can stay up to date by liking their facebook page here.  I have two more polishes to show you from BadAss early next week.  Until then, have a great day!

BadAss Polish America's Team

Sun
Good morning lacquerheads!  I'm really excited for today's post.  I recently recieved a few polishes from a brand new indie maker.  The brand is BadAss Polish and let me tell ya, these are pretty badass.  Beware lots of pictures ahead.  Let's start with the really cool packaging.  The polishes come inside the tubes you see in the picture.  Once you slide off the top you see a nice note from the creator of BadAss Polish.  Inside the tube is the polish wrapped in a piece of felt.  Not only does this protect the bottle during shipping but felt is great for removing glitter.  It's all I ever use to remove polish.

America's Team is inspired by the Dallas Cowboys.  It's a clear base with multiple sizes of silver glitter and blue stars.  This is definitely a layering polish so I decided on Zoya Elisa with an accent of Zoya Suri.  This is one coat of America's Team.  There is a good number of stars in this polish so I only had to pick out one for my pinky.  The other stars came right out on the brush.  America's Team was super easy to apply.  Once coat gave tons of the silver glitter.  I will definitely be wearing this polish with Zoya Elisa for the 4th of July.
