Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Review

*Stamping Plate was provided for review*

Hey all!  I have a review of Born Pretty Store stamping plate, BP56.  It's a cute plate with flower designs.  I just used a few random sections of the plate to stamp.  My index and pinky were stamped with Rica Pinky Promise.  It worked great!  The middle nails were stamped with a Color Club holo (sorry the label fell off and I don't know which one it was).  This looked great in person but didn't transfer well to the photos.  This plate worked really well.  No issues to report at all.

Born Pretty Store has a ton of great nail art items, click here to check it out.  Remember to use code FEMJ61 to save 10% on regular priced items.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Until next time...

Color Club Concrete Jungle

*Purchased by me*

Color Club Concrete Jungle
Color Club Concrete Jungle
Hey all!  Quickie post for you today.  This is Color Club Concrete Jungle layered over Zoya Tao.  Concrete Jungle is a top coat and is just perfect over the gray polish.  This is just one coat.  The coverage was very even and smooth.  I used a couple of nail vinyls to make the pattern.

This one was hard to photograph especially in the sun.  I hope you guys liked today's mani.  Thanks for stopping by and reading.

Rica The Gnome Made Me Do It

*Purchased by me*

Hello!  Every now and again a polish comes along that makes me swoon.  Today I have one of those polishes to show you.  This is Rica The Gnome Made Me Do It.  Rica does a collaboration box with Stardust polish each month and this polish is from the very first month.  I was in the process of buying the box when I got cart-jacked.  I hate missing out on pretty polishes especially when they are gnome related!  Luckily a lovely lady in one of my nail groups offered to sell me hers when she heard I missed out.  Yay!

This is two coats plus top coat for photos.  One coat of The Gnome Made Me Do It was almost perfect.  I added a quick gradient to some accent nails using Color Club Pinky Swear.  I just love the little teal bits in Pinky Swear.

I wish I could show you all this mani in person.  SO much better!  Head over to Rica's shop and check out all the cool polishes.  If you stamp be sure to check out the stamping line.  It's phenomenal.   Have a great night everyone!

Until next time...

Color Club Peace, Love & Polish

*Purchased by me*

Hey all!  Happy Wednesday!  Today's mani is Color Club Peace, Love & Polish.  This polish is so so gorgeous.  I love shimmers!  To make it even better the formula was really great.  Two coats and top coat.  Perfectly opaque and even.  My accent nail is Rainbow Honey Waves with Neon Blossoms on top.  This mani probably would have been better with a different accent but oh well.  These are all great polishes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day.

Until next time...

Orly Mentality Mayhem

*Purchased by me*

Hello!  I've been participating in an untrieds challenge in a nail group on facebook so I have a bunch of random manis to show you all.  My friend Sam of Sammy Gail's Nails is the on that set up the challenge so if you'd like to see more go check her out and give her a follow.  Today's theme was neon.  Neons can be hard to find in my untrieds because I love them so much and tend to wear them really quickly.  I found Orly Mentality Mayhem, a gorgeous neon orange, and Color Club British Invasion, neon pink and blue and white glitters.  Mentality Mayhem was a bit fussy as far as formula and application.  Pretty normal for a neon.  Three coats evened it out pretty well though.  British Invasion is great and applied so well in one coat.

I'm currently wearing this mani and don't ever want to take it off.  That's unusual for me.  What is your favorite neon polish?  I can never have too many neons.  Have a great day all!

Until next time...

Birthday Nails!

*Purchased by me*

Hey all!  Yesterday was my birthday and these are the nails I decided on for it.  I'm so in love with the birthday mani.  I started with Rica Shipwrecked Siren.  I used three coats.  It looked pretty good at two but the third one just added a great depth to it.  If I was a good blogger I would have taken a picture of just Shipwrecked Siren but well I'm me and I didn't remember.  Then I used Mash plate 40 and Color Club Halo-graphic to stamp over top.  Halo-graphic stamps like a dream!  This is also the first time I managed stamp full nail designs on 9 out of 10 nails.

This makes me want to stamp everything.  I'm not the biggest fan of the Color Club holos on there own but they are amazing for stamping.  I need to go pick up some more.  Rica makes some great polishes you guys and has the fastest shipping I've come across in the indie world.  Check out the etsy shop here and facebook here.  Have a great night!

Until next time...

Color Club Feelin' Groovy

*Purchased by me*

Sun
Good morning!  Today I have seriously the most obnoxious (in a good way) mani I've worn in a very long time.  This in your face green is Color Club Feelin' Groovy.  Like with most neons they can be a bit on the sheer side so this is three coats plus top coat.  My accent nail is Color Club Sexy Siren layered over China Glaze Hanging in the Balance.  This mani was so bright that Mr. MLiP noticed it before I shoved my fingers in his face to look at it.

Shade
Are you a neon fan or no?  If you are what are your favorites?  I love a good neon.

Until next time...

Chevron Stamping

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  It has been forever since I've done any stamping.  If you follow along over on my facebook page you saw my junior high chic, crazy stamping practice mani.  I was testing out colors and plates.  In the end I decided to use Color Club Over the Moon to stamp a chevron print on Zoya Ibiza.  I'm obviously not the best stamper.  My chevrons are a bit wonky but I really don't care.  This was just so much fun to wear.  This ended up being my Thanksgiving mani.  Not festive at all but super cute.

This makes me want to stamp every mani with a holo.  So much fun!  I hope you all have a great day.

Colors by Llarowe Zipper

Hello!  Tonight for your viewing pleasure I have Colors by Llarowe Zipper, a soft blue holo.  I honestly expected this to be sheer and need to be layered.  Imagine my surprise when it was totally opaque in two coats and the formula was so great.  Super smooth and easy to apply.  I'm not usually a holo lover but I feel myself being sucked over to the dark side by soft, pastel, light color holos.  I stamped on a flower design using Mash plate 42 and Color Club Eternal Beauty.  Stamping with holos is fun for sure.

Both pictures are in the sun because really what fun is a holo in the shade?  I will definitely be looking into more of these polishes.  I hope you all have a great night!

*I purchased this polish myself.  I hid from my kids in the bathroom (they were driving me nuts) and used my phone to purchase it.*

Color Club The Uptown

Hi all!  Today I have Color Club The Uptown for your viewing pleasure.  The Uptown is a purple jelly base with flakies in it.  I'm pretty sure you could get this polish opaque with a few coats but we all know that jellies with flakies can get kinda thick so I decided to layer it.  My base color is Sation Super Nail-tural Powers, a dark purple cream.  All the pictures show one coat of The Uptown over the purple cream with topcoat.

I liked the formula of The Uptown.  It's smooth, tons of flakies in just one coat and they all laid flat.  Now I do think that you could probably get a similar look if you own Nubar 2010 or Essie Shine of the Times and layered them over a purple but I like having it all in one polish.

All the photos were taken in the shade.  All the sun pictures have wicked glare and you can't see anything.  I hope you liked this one.  I'll talk to you again soon.

Sara

*I bought this polish myself with my very own money.  I made money at work and then immediately gave it all to a very lovely woman on the internet in exchange for this polish.*

Above the Curve Kahuna

Hey all!  How is everyone?  Things around here have been completely insane hence the erratic posting.  My oldest son made the all star baseball team and they are practicing everyday for 3+ hours.  Which means I'm spending all my evenings and nights sitting in the 110 degree heat on the side of a ball field instead of writing up posts for you all.  Anyway today I have Above the Curve Kahuna.  It's a very subtle holo blue.  The formula was good, two coats for perfect coverage.  I added dots using Color Club Eternal Beauty and Barielle Night Moves.  I liked this mani but didn't love it.  Both pictures were taken in slightly overcast conditions so the holo is hard to see.

Sadly Kahuna didn't wear well on me.  It chipped in less than a day using my regular base and topcoats.  What do you think?  Are you a holo lover?  I like the really subtle ones mostly but a good holo pedi is alway fun here where it's so sunny.  I'm going to leave you with one last picture of my all star baseball player.

Isn't he cute?  Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought these polishes myself.  I'm very good at online shopping.  The ball player is all mine too.*

Color Club Wild Cactus

Good morning!  How was everyone's weekend?  I'm happy to say I played basketball with my boys and didn't break any nails this time.  Yay me!  Today I have Color Club Wild Cactus for your viewing pleasure.  I *think* this is from their spring collection this year but not completely sure.  I picked it up from Birchbox while using some of my points.  Color Club had free shipping so it made my whole order ship free.  I'd much rather pay for polish than shipping :)  This is a gorgeous green with a slight teal touch to it.  The formula was outstanding.  Really it was amazing!  Two coats gave me a perfectly opaque, super shiny finish.  I added an accent nail of Feenix Polish Shake Your Tail Feathers.  Sadly Feenix Polish is shutting down.  In fact a few of my favorite indies are shutting down lately and this makes me sad.

You all know I love a good accent nail but I'm curious what you think about them.  Do you rock accent nails or do you think they're tacky?  Have a great Monday and I'll talk to you soon.

Sara

*I bought this polish myself as an excuse to not pay shipping on something else.  Seemed smart at the time :)*

Color Club Blue-topia and some Finger Paints flakies

Good morning!
Apparently it's flaky week here at My Life in Polish and no one told me. As I was writing this up I realized all my posts this week have featured flakies. Seems like they are so much easier to get all of a sudden. Anyway, Color Club Blue-topia is an awsome blue polish. It went on in two easy coats. Sorry I don't have pictures of it by itself because I did my nails at night. On top of Blue-topia I layered one coat of Finger Paints Motley and Flecked. Now this wasn't my idea but when I saw in on facebook I knew I had to try it out.

Check out this awesomeness!

I'm so in love with this! I can't wait to try these same two flakies over a green. Maybe Artsy, Crafty from the same Color Club collection. Have you tried any of the FP flakies yet? What do you think?

Until next time,
Sara

Color Club Holiday Splendor

Today I have the awesome Color Club Holiday Splendor from the Beyond the Mistletoe collection. I decided to go ahead and layer it over black. I love the way this looks. My oldest son was also impressed. He made me promise to wear it again soon when I had to take it off after an unfortunate chipping incident at work. Holiday Splendor has some holo glitter in it that my poor camera was trying so hard to capture. Didn't work so well. Take my word for it, this polish is gorgeous.

Again due to sucko weather these photos were taken inside, next to the window.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Color Club Nouveau Vintage

Hi Everyone,

Today I have Color Club Nouveau Vintage. This color is beautiful. I bought the Back to Boho set just for this color. There are other great colors in the set but this is my favorite. In the bottle this color has a bit of green to it but that doesn't come across on the nail. This is two coats of bronze/copper perfection.

This color is just stunning! What was your favorite Back to Boho color?

Color Club Cold Metal

Hi Everyone,

Today I have the amazing Color Club Cold Metal. This is from the Foiled Collection. I love that whole collection so much. The formula is super great and they work for stamping. This is two coats of Cold Metal. It's almost a one coater but I had a bald spot on two nails so two coats it is. I did an accent finger with Color Club Jingle Jangle from the Beyond the Mistletoe collection. All the photos were taken inside with indirect light from the window. I forgot to go take them in the backyard while it still had sun and I didn't want to chance having to discuss what I was doing with the creepy neighbor if I went out front.

So in love with this mani. What's your favorite from the Foiled collection?

Have a great day!
Sara

PS* Jingle Jangle was a huge pain to get off.

Color Club Alter Ego

outside sun

I just love shiny things, especially shiny nail polish. Color Club Alter Ego is a really pretty metallic purple that is almost a foil. It looked super purple in the sun and less so in the shade. I really enjoyed wearing this color. I think it would look great with some stamping over it. I was just too lazy to do it :)

The more I use Color Club the more I love them! What's your favorite Color Club nail polish?

Take care,
