Julep Etta

Hello lovely readers!  Today I have a polish to show you that was picked out by my 10 year old.  He loves green so I think that's why this one was picked.  This is Julep Etta, a lovely light green metallic polish.  This has a foil finish look to it that is just one of my favorite finishes.  This is three coats of Etta with topcoat.  Sometimes polish can get gloopy with this many coats but that was not the case here.  Super easy to work with.

I just love how soft and delicate this green is.  I can also see this being a great base for glitters.  I will definitely be wearing this again.  I know people either love or hate Julep for some reason.  Overall I've really enjoyed the polishes of theirs I've worn.

Have a great day!

*This polish was purchased by me using my own money.  I could buy more polish if they started taking monopoly money though.*

Zoya Josie & Hit Polish Kryptonite

zoya josie
Sun

Happy Sunday!  Today I have Zoya Josie from the new summer collection.  Josie is a dusty grass green cream that has the most wonderful formula.  It's exactly what you'd expect from Zoya.  Two coats and it looked perfect.  My accent nail is Hit Polish Nail Lacquer (formerly D&R Apothecary) Kryptonite, a gray jelly base with green and gray glitter, layered over China Glaze Recycle.  I only bought the mini of Kryptonite (what was I thinking?) so I layered it to conserve.  This is my favorite mani of the last few weeks for sure.

Shade
So what do you think?  Before ordering Kryptonite I wouldn't have paired these two colors but now I'm kinda obsessed with green and gray.  If you'd like to check out Hit Polish Nail Lacquer for yourself click here for the etsy shop and here for her facebook page.

Have a great day!

Sara

*I bought both these polishes myself.  I couldn't pass up Zoya's Earth Day promo and Hit Polishes just have this weird way of jumping into my online cart and flying home to me.*

Essie First Timer and a Comparison

Sun
Hey guys!  Happy Earth Day!  I don't have any fancy nails for you today but I do have a green mani.  Essie First Timer is from the new resort collection that just came out.  I love most greens, especially soft pretty ones, so I snatched this up right away.  First Timer is a nice soft, but bright, spring green.  It was perfect in two coats.  The polish was easy to control and I didn't have any issues with streakiness or patchiness.

Sun

Shade
This is the first polish in a while that I was so excited about that I put it on right after buying it, then when I took it off my fingers I put it on my toes.  What's the last polish that had you this excited?

While talking about this polish in a facebook nail group a friend asked how it compared to Mojito Madness, another favorite green of mine.  So I did up a quick comparison for you all.  They are definitely different.  Pointer and ring finger have Mojito Madness and my middle and pinky fingers have First Timer on them.  Which one do you prefer?  I'm kinda in love with them both :)

Have a great Monday and I'll talk with you again soon.

Sara

*I purchased this polish with my own funds.  I was so excited to see it that I paid full price for it.  That never happens.  My mom would be horrified.  Don't tell her.*

Julep Mackenzie

Happy Friday!  Quick post for you today showing Julep Mackenzie.  This in your face bright green is from the most recent Julep boxes.  If you want people to notice your nails this is definitely a color for you.  Mackenzie took three coats to be opaque.  The formula was okay once I got used to it.  It was like no matter how much I wiped the brush on the neck of the bottle there was still too much polish on the brush.  Once I figured out how to work with that it was okay.

Shade
This is going to make an amazing pedi color for sure.  So what do you think?  Would you wear this color or is it too much for you?  Have a great weekend!

Sara

*I used my Jules from the Julep rewards program to purchase this polish.  I want to know why they're called Jules.  Was rewards points too boring?  Not colorful enough haha.  I crack myself up.*

Pomegranate Enchanted Lagoon

Good morning!  Today I have a new to me brand, Pomegranate Nail Lacquer.  I ordered a few polishes from them during a sale and I couldn't be more pleased.  When My polishes arrived one of them was broken so I sent an email on a Saturday and didn't expect to hear from them until Monday but I had a response back in less than 10 minutes.  My replacement polish was sent right out and I had it in a few days.  Today I have Enchanted Lagoon to show you.  Enchanted Lagoon is a great, light springy green.  This is three coats because I had a little vnl after two.  Formula was fantastic and it wore great.  I simply love this polish and can't wait to try the others I got.

Have you tried any polishes from this brand?  They just released some new colors that I would love to get my hands on.  You can buy them online here.  I hope you all have a great day!

*I bought this polish using Mr. MLiP's money in a fit of late night internet shopping.*

My Vegas Nails!

Hey lovlies!  Today's post features the nails that I wore on my recent trip to Vegas.  This is China Glaze Running in Circles with Water You Waiting For sponged on using an eye shadow applicator.  Running in Circles is the most amazing green polish I own.  China Glaze does these glass flecks so well.  I used two coats for this manicure but in retrospect I should have used three.  I don't have any pictures of this in the sun because you could see major vnl and they looked terrible.  Then I sponged on Water You Waiting For.  I can't wait to wear this polish on its own.

Mr. MLiP loved these nails and I got several compliments on my trip.  Plus it wore like iron.  No chipping or anything while we were gone.  Do you have a favorite China Glaze glass fleck?  I feel like I should own them all.  It's my favorite polish finish.

Until next time,

Sara

*These are my very own polishes.  No one gave them to me.  Well, the girl at Sally's did but I have her money, so it doesn't count.*

Zoya Holly & Feenix Polish Halloween Party

Sun

Hi everyone!  I'm back from vacation but I'm sick so today's post is gonna be a quick one.  I've had Zoya Holly sitting around for a while now but am so glad I finally used it.  What a gorgeous, shiny green.  It was perfect in two coats.  Zoya really nailed it with this perfect holiday green.  I added Feenix Polish Halloween Party on my middle finger per my 9yr olds request.  Halloween Party is a really cool glitter.  It has purple, green and orange glitter in a black jelly base.  I have many more plans for this one but for now it's just an accent.  The black jelly really didn't change the color of Holly at all.  It was also super easy to apply.  No dabbing and swirling around the glitter with this one.

Shade
Feenix Polish has some really neat polishes up right now.  Click here to visit her etsy shop.  I also ordered Candy Corn and can't wait to try it out.  What's your favorite Halloween polish?

Have a great day!

Rainbow Favorites: Green

Today in the Rainbow Challenge is green.  I have and love lots of greens.  I choose Essie Pretty Edgy to show you because it was one of my gateway polishes.  Originally I bought a mini of this and Demure Vixen.  I decided I love them both so much I bought them in full size and gave the minis to my sister.  Pretty Edgy has some formula issues but I just love the color so much I'll over look them.  This is three coats of green gorgeousness.

What is your favorite green?  Another green I love is Mojito Madness.  Luckily it has none of the formula issues of this polish.  Down below is a list of everyone else that is doing the challenge.

Essie Mojito Madness

Hi Everyone and Happy Tuesday!  Today I have the brand new Essie Mojito Madness.  This is just the coolest green polish.  The formula was pretty good.  The pictures are two coats of MM with no topcoat.  I know I usually have topcoat on but I added CND Ice Blue Shimmer to this shortly after these photos.  Unfortunately I have no photos of the mani with shimmer.  Oops, sorry!  This polish wore really well for me.

So do you plan to get any of the new summer Essie collection?  I'm still debating on the orange.  Talk with you soon.

Butter London Dosh

Sun

Today I have the pretty Butter London Dosh to show you.  This is only the second BL I've ever worn.    This is an amazing, weird, slightly yellow tinted green.  It's got an amazing shimmer to it.  I love that it's yellow tinted but just a bit, not enough to make my ginger skin look gross.  This is two coats of BL's amazing formula.

Shade
So is Dosh a color you would wear?  What is your favorite Butter London shade?  Have a great day!

China Glaze Sour Apple

Hey my lovely readers!  Today I have a quick post about a super bright color.  This is China Glaze Sour Apple.  I keep trying to call this Sour Kangaroo because I wore it to see my sister play the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical.  I layered Sour Apple over Zoya Midori so I didn't have to wear so many layers of glitter.  I think this is two coats of SA but honestly I'm not 100% sure as I wore this in February and just came across the pictures.  In the bottom picture you can see the different colored glitter a bit better.

So what do you think?  Do you like super bright glitters like this?  I also got Blue Hawaiian and Dreamsicle at the same time.

Take care,
Sara

Shop My Stash St Patricks Day Edition

Hi Everyone! So I meant to post this over the weekend and well life got the better of me and I didn't get to it. Sorry! I wore Zoya Ivanka for my St Pattys Day mani. Ivanka just looks like St Patricks in a bottle. All that shimmery goodness. The pictures are two coats. After seeing most of the sun shots I think I should have done three but in the shade it totally kicked butt.

This is the sun shot and you can see some thin spots on my pinky. I also had a kick butt pedi that day. China Glaze Holly Day with Zoya Opal over it. So awesome! Try it if you have those.

Take care!

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed

Today I have the gorgeous Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed. I'm so happy to have this polish. When trying to decide what color to layer TS over I really wanted something that would keep it as close to the bottle color as possible. I have nail wheels that I try different combinations out on. To go with this I have a notebook that I write down all the combos in so I won't forget what they are. I can't be the only one doing this right? Okay maybe I am. So I tried Toxic Seaweed over Sinful Colors Kissy, Cult Nails Let Me Fly and Finger Paints Scenery Greenery. The Finger Paints got me closest to the bottle color on TS. It did look really neat over Kissy as well. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. This is two coats of Scenery Greenery and two coats of Toxic Seaweed.

By the way, if you see anything that looks kinda foggy or blue on my nails it's because I dropped my bottle of Butter London Victoriana on the patio. I didn't realize it was on my nails until half way though taking pictures. I very carefully used some remover to clean it off and reapplied topcoat to save my mani.

Do you see all those pretty coppery flakies in there? Love love love! Maria of Cult Nails mentioned that Toxic Seaweed may be limited edition due to trouble sourcing ingredients so head over and check it out soon.

Have a great Saturday!

Pretty and Polished Martian Salad

Recently I discovered that you could buy nail polish on Etsy. Oh boy! My wallet wishes I had never found this out. My nails, however, think this is amazing. One of my recent purchases was from Pretty and Polished. You can check out her blog here. The first polish I have to show you is Martian Salad. Now normally I'm not super into holos but this one is a gorgeous green and the name just sucked me in. I had to have it. This is three coats of Martian Salad. I think next time I may layer it over a similar green to conserve this beauty. Check it out!

My photo taking skills when it comes to holos are less than stellar but you can see the great holo in the bottle. It looks a lot stronger on my nails than the pictures show. If you are interested in Martian Salad or checking out her other great polishes click here for the Etsy shop. It looks like she should be restocking some colors tonight and the rest later this week.

So I'm curious who your favorite indie polish maker is. Someone on Etsy or somewhere else? I'd love to hear about it so I can check it out.

Have a great day!

Zoya Yara

Hello and happy Tuesday to you all!

Can someone please tell me why I took so long to wear Yara? She is such a gorgeous color. Such a pretty olive green with amazing gold glitter thrown in. This is two easy coats of Yara. The first picture and the last picture were taken in full sun. The other two were in the shade.

I just love Zoya! Out of all the Zoyas I own, and there are a lot, there have only been three that I didn't love. Areej, Stacy and Reece just didn't do it for me. So I'm curious. What is your very favorite Zoya color and your least favorite?

Have a great day!

China Glaze Peace on Earth

Hi All,

Today I have China Glaze Peace on Earth with Sally Hansen Glass Slipper. I picked up Peace on Earth last year when my polish obsession was just getting into full swing. It was on clearance at Sally's so I said why not. I love it! Can't believe I took so long to wear it. Sorry about the dry skin around my nails. I'm working on it I swear!

You can't really see the flakies in this last sun picture but it gives a really good idea of the color of Peace on Earth.

What is your favorite remedy to keep the skin around your nails from looking so dry? I live in AZ but still have winter skin dryness.

Take care,
Sara

China Glaze It's Alive

outside full sun
Today I have the amazing glitter It's Alive by China Glaze.  This was the only color from the Halloween collection that really appealed to me.  This is two coats of It's Alive and topcoat.  Even after topcoat this glitter is super gritty.  I finally went out and bought Gelous to try over my next gritty glitter mani.  Hopefully it helps.

So what do you think?  Personally, I'm in love!  This will definitely not just be for Halloween.  I think I may still want to pick up the black with silver glitter from this collection.  I think it may be what I wanted Orly Goth to be.  I'll have to check the nail supply store next time I make it down there.

Take care and have a great day!

Color Club Perfectly Mol-ten

Today I have the most perfect (haha) green foil nail polish. I actually have some other stuff I was going to blog first but I put this on today and was blown away. I love foils. They are one of my favorite finishes, so I was super excited when Color Club put out a collection of foils recently. My 3 year old picked the green for me to wear first. At one coat this polish is almost perfect. At two coats it is perfect. This was so easy to use, it almost applied itself. After my experience this morning I can not wait to try the rest out. I'm really excited to use these for stamping and for making stripes with the striping tape.

So what do you think? Do you own any of these yet?

Take care,
