Essie Bikini So Teeny

Shade

Every now and again I put on a polish and am completely blown away.  This happened with Essie Bikini So Teeny.  I had passed on this color so many times because I thought it was just another boring blue cream.  I'm happy to say I was so wrong, so very wrong.  I finally picked it up from a blog sale and I'm in love.  Bikini So Teeny has a very subtle shimmer that isn't really noticeable on the nail but it does give this awesome color great depth.  Bikini is a pale blue that manages to be very vibrant.  It does pull a little to the purple side of things.  This is three thin coats.  After two I still had a few patchy spots.

Mr. MLiP took the first picture in the shade because the nail decal came out better on my right hand.  I can't operate the camera very well with my left hand.  The decal on my left hand had a bit of an issue.  It folded up on itself when I was putting it on and caused that weird break in the line.  It was completely user error.  I love these water decals from kkcenterhk.com.  I like that they don't stick up like nail stickers.  Here's the link for the decals I used this time.  Don't forget to use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10% if you order from them.

Have you ever passed on a polish repeatedly just to realize that you should have bought it right away?  Have a great day!

KKcenterhk Stamping Plate

Good morning!  Are you sick of all the Halloween posts yet?  I love seeing all the creativity in my blog reader.  Today I have a quick review of a stamping plate from kkcenterhk.com.  Here's the link for the plate I used today.  I had mixed results with this one, which is unusual for me.  The plates I've reviewed in the past have all worked well.  The web and the ghost stamped very well.  The pumpkin on my first finger would not come out clear no matter what I did.  It also had that weird smear spot underneath it that I couldn't avoid.  The image on my pinky is supposed to be a witch but no matter how I looked at it I couldn't see a witch.  I honestly wish I had just stamped the web on all my fingers.  I gave their stamper another shot but it wouldn't pick up the images.  Once I switched back to my normal konad stamper the images came up just fine.

I'm in love with the nail color under the stamping.  It just screamed Halloween.  I used China Glaze Orange You Hot? then used the saran wrap method with a black cream, Sinful Colors Black on Black I believe.  I just love the saran wrap method for simple, quick nail art.

I hope you have an awesome Tuesday.  Until next time...

Lacquerhead Polish My Boo & KKCenterHK Water Decals

Sun
Hello!  We are creeping closer to Halloween.  Tonight I have my first Halloween mani for you all to see.  I am a total sucker for all the milky white glitter polishes.  What makes this one even better is it's Halloween colors.  My Boo is a white jelly with different sizes of black, orange and purple glitter.  It's so freakin neat.  This is four coats (I know it sounds like a lot) of My Boo.  You could save yourself some coats by layering over a white but I like the squishiness of the jelly finish.  You lose some of that when it's layered.  The glitter payoff is phenomenal.  Never once did I worry that I wasn't getting enough glitter.

My accent nail is a water decal from kkcenterhk.com.  I've shown you others before and my thoughts on these are the same.  They rock!  So easy to use and the price is very good.  I used two coats of Milani White on the Spot, a two coater streak free white, then a layer of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu to soften up the starkness of the Milani.  After it was dry I applied the decal then my topcoat du jour Color Club 0-60.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

You can see this and the other polishes Lacquerhead Polish has to offer by clicking here to go to the etsy shop and here to check out her facebook page.  She's having a sale right now through Friday.  Save 25% using the code ILOVEMYFANS.  To see the water decals on kkcenterhk.com click here.  I'm really excited to order some Christmas/winter themed ones.  Remember if you order from kkcenterhk use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10%.

Zoya Rory and KKcenterHK Printing Mode

Shade
Hi Ladies and Gentlemen (there's gotta be at least one right?).  I'm not normally a pink person but I do love foils so I decided to give Zoya Rory a shot.  Oh wow she's so beautiful!  Rory is a bubble gum pink foil polish.  This is two coats but one thicker one would have been fine as well.  On my accent nail I used another printing mode (basically a stencil) from kkcenterhk.com.  Click here to see the one I used on their website.    This was super easy to use.  I just stuck it to my hand a few times to remove some sticky then placed it on the nail.  I used Zoya Trixie to fill in the design.  Then you just peel it up, wait for it to dry some and then topcoat it.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

While Zuza is my favorite from the Zoya Surf collection I think Rory is close behind.  What's your favorite from this collection?

Take care,
Sara

Zoya Kimber & KKcenterHK Printing Mode

Sun

Hey Everyone!  How's it going?  Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Hopefully now that school has started my posting will pick up some.  So today I have a review of the nail printing mode from kkcenterhk.com.  I know it's a weird name but really it's a stencil for your nails.  Here's the link for the ones I used for this manicure.  Basically you paint your nails and make sure they're dry.  I used a quick dry topcoat and just waited a bit.  Then peel the stencil off the paper backing, stick it a few times to your hand to remove some of the sticky and place it on the nail where you would like it.  They come with different sizes to accommodate different nail sizes.

For this I used three coats of Zoya Kimber, a bright hot pink foil from the Surf Collection.  I still had VNL after two coats.  After that was dry I placed the stencil.  Using Zoya Zuza I painted over it.  Then quickly pull up the decal.  You can see that some of the flower petals are misshapen.  That is completely my fault.  I realized to late that it wasn't stuck down completely.  I did a second flower using  Zoya Trixie that came out much better.  The nail printing modes are one time use but because I'm just using them for accent nails they will last a while.  I will definitely be picking up some more of these soon.  If you order from kkcenterhk use the code mylifeinpolish to save 10% through Jan 31, 2013.  I don't get referral credit or anything I just want you all to save some money.

Zoya Gaia & kkcenterhk Water Decals

Shade

Hey Lacquer Lovers!  Sorry about the mini break in blog posts.  To kick start things tonight I have a manicure that I could wear everyday.  I adore white polishes.  This is three coats of Zoya Gaia.  Gaia is a sheer but build-able white with tons of gold shimmer.  It's soft, delicate and girly.  Hahaha not things I usually go for in a nail color.  I recently got some new water decals from kkcenterhk.com.  I just knew they would be perfect with Gaia.  These decals are super easy to use.  Just cut out the section you want, take off the top plastic then put it in some water.  After that the decal should come right off the backing.  The great thing about water decals is there is wiggle room.  You can slide the decal around until it's where you want it to be.  Dry it off then topcoat.  Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy as my 4 year old would say.

Product Reviews from KKcenterHK

Hi and Happy Monday!  Today I have a review of two stamping plates and some water nail decals that I received from KKcenterHK.com.  I picked two images off each plate, SPPMB38 and SPPMB32.  I used WnW Black Creme and Konad Special Polish White to stamp over my existing Orly Frisky mani.  The images all came out pretty well.  The splatter image from B38 worked the best.  The little guys from B32 are missing a few spots but that was probably just me.  I can see myself using the splatter image a lot.  I was getting ready to do a pedicure with Zoya Carly and Meg so I tried them out for stamping on my thumb with the splatter image.  I freakin love it.  Carly stamps amazingly well.

Next up I have some more of their awesome water nail decals.  I showed you the star ones here.  Today I have some black and white flower decals, WDBLE899.  Again these are done on top of my Orly Frisky mani.  These are super easy to use, although I do wish they came with some directions.  I checked out a few youtube videos and they helped me out.  Basically cut out the section you want to use, put it in a little bowl of water for a few seconds then place it on your nail.  I love the water decals instead of stickers because they leave some room for error.  You can move them around a bit on the nail for great placement.

All in all I've had great success with the products I've received from KKcenterHK.com.  They are having a sale during the month of May for 25% off.  If you order any other time and use the code mylifeinpolish you'll get 10%, through 1/21/2013.  Thanks for stopping by today!
