Sparkles by Julie Lost in Space

Happy Saturday lovlies!  Got a quick post today from one of my favorite indie makers.  This is Sparkles by Julie Lost in Space, a black base with many shapes, sizes and colors of glitter.  I used two coats of Lost in Space for this mani.  I then topped it with one coat of Gelous and topcoat.  I had a bit of shrinkage that is driving me nuts.  I haven't had a polish shrink in forever.

I just adore Sparkles by Julie.  She makes great quality polishes and has amazing fast shipping.  Click here to check out her etsy shop.  I hope you all have a great day.  I get to go to work, blech.

*I bought this polish myself during a Christmas sale.  Then I spent my savings on another Sparkles by Julie polish.*

Zoya Storm

Sun
Good morning!  So most of you know that I really don't like holos.  I've just never really hopped on that band wagon.  However I do really like black polishes, so I had to pick up Storm.  The pictures are all two coats with topcoat.  Storm had an amazing formula.  Super smooth and easy to use.  I did the checkerboard pattern on my accent nail using Zoya Trixie and Carly.  I used stripping tape to make the lines.  The tape didn't want to stay down so the lines aren't perfect but I will be doing this again soon with different tape.  So my photography skills with holos leave something to be desired but I tried my hardest.

I know that's a lot of pictures but I just couldn't decide which to put up.  What do you think?  I really can't wait to do more checkerboards.  Such a fun way to add color to a mani.

Icing Glitz and Glam

Hello my fellow nail polish lovers! Today I have a quick post to show you a really pretty glitter polish I won in a giveaway from Painting Outside the Lines on facebook. I won two polishes, Icing Glitz and Glam and a Sinful Colors with no label but it's a really pretty teal, blueish color. This is two coats of Glitz and Glam over two coats of Cult Nails Blackout. I wish I would have stopped at one coat of the glitter but oh well. I had originally tried to wear this polish by itself but at three coats I still had sparse spots but over black I am in love. I wore this polish for 5 days with no chips or tip wear. Amazing!

So what do you think? I can't wait to wear this again. Go check out Painting Outside the Lines. She posts lots of great stuff.

Have a great day!

Pretty and Polished Midnight Rider

Good morning everyone!

Today's post is a scheduled one because I will have just had my wisdom teeth out and wasn't sure if I would be up to blogging over the weekend. Midnight Rider is so pretty. The photos show two coats of MR over one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black. The formula is amazing! Some of the bigger polish companies could learn something from Pretty and Polished. The glitter wasn't a pain to get on the nail. It just came out of the bottle and stayed where I put it on my nails. I'm going to layer this over some other colors to see what happens. I will definitely be ordering more polishes soon. Check it out. There are a lot of pictures.

Look at that bottle! Isn't it gorgeous? You should all go order a bottle now! No really, go! Click here to visit the Pretty and Polished Etsy store. I love polish shopping on Etsy. What is your favorite Etsy store?

Have a great day!

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes

First I should say that I am a huge Hunger Games fan. I've read the trilogy a few times and just love it. So when it was announced that China Glaze was doing a Hunger Games collection I knew I'd have to have most of them. Today I have Smoke and Ashes to show you. It is an amazing black glass fleck with blue/green shimmer in the right light. The formula was outstanding as well. Two coats made it perfect. You might be able to get away with one thicker coat if you are careful. I added Luxe and Lush, a mylar flakie, to the accent finger. Love! I don't really know that my photos are doing this polish justice but trust me, it is gorgeous. Check it out!

This last photo was taken in the sun. The others were in the shade. I honestly liked how this looked in the shade better.

So have you read the Hunger Games? If you have, do you have any other books to recommend that I may like just as much? Can't wait to show you guys the rest that I've picked up. Have a great day!

Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta and Black Creme

You know what doesn't help when you're nail art challenged? Your husband calling three hours early and saying come pick me up. He was an hours drive away. Yeah, so this awesome idea is a bit of a mess. My topcoat smeared the black because I was in a hurry. I can't wait to try this again though.

This is two coats of WNW How I Met Your Magenta (would do three if wearing on its own) with a tape design and WNW Black Creme over it. Black Creme is amazing! Great for stamping and covers in one coat. I used my striping tape to make the lines. Love that stuff!

Oh what a mess! outside, sun

HIMYM is a squishy, bright pink with some shimmer. Not sure if I plan on keeping this one or not. Don't really know how I would get rid of it but whatever. Just seems so wrong to dispose of any nail polish. If you want it, let me know. I'll send it to you.

So what do you think of my nail fail? I figure everyone has them so why not show them off.

Have a great day!

Misa Wishing on a Star

Today I have my one and only Misa polish. Wishing on a Star is black with loads of glitter. In the pictures it just looks like silver glitter but there are other colors in there too. There was a lack of sun so the other colors wouldn't come out to play. I absolutely love this polish. It went on in two super easy coats and was really easy to control. My husband walked by while I was putting it on and said "wow that's a really cool color". Usually the only way he notices my nails is if I stuff them in his face and make him look :)

Please excuse the dry skin around my nails, don't know what was happening there.

This is easily one of my favorite polishes now. Misa is kind of hard to come by around here. The only place I can find any is at my favorite little hole in the wall nail supply shop, but after seeing the swatches for their new Surreal Escape collection, I may have to pick up a few more.

Do you own any Misa? What are your favorites?
