China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On

Hey guys!  Just a quick post today as my head is killing me after yesterday's procedure and I figure you probably don't want to listen to me whine about it.  These are a couple of my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden collection.  The main color is Keep Calm, Paint On, a pale mint shimmer.  It went on in two coats and was seriously perfect.  My accent nail is China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around, a white glass fleck.  It's super pretty but kind of sheer.  It took three coats to look good.  I added dots using China Glaze Fancy Pants and Keep Calm, Paint On.  Both these pictures were taken in the sun.  All my shade shots made me fingers look so red.  Sorry about that.

I hope you all have a great Friday.  Until next time...

SoFlaJo White Sensation

Overcast skies
Hey look!  I do remember where to find my blog :)  Sorry for the absence guys.  Life has been insane and just got in the way of blogging.  I'm back to day with SoFlaJo White Sensation.  I've wanted this polish for a while and recently found it on a blog sale, so I snatched it up.  White Sensation is a shimmery, matte white.  It took three coats to not be streaky and reach a level of opaqueness I was comfortable with.  The formula was really easy to control.  I stamped on an accent nail using Kleancolor Metallic Aqua and Green and Mash plate 35.  These Kleancolor Metallics stamp so well.  Definitely need to get my hands on some more of these.

Shade
I love a good white polish no matter the finish.  Do you like mattes?  What is your favorite?  Until next time friends...

*I bought this polish myself from a super awesome blog sale.  No this wasn't the only one I bought.  I didn't want it to be lonely on the trip to AZ.*

My Valentines Day Nails

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Today I have my Valentine's Day nails to share with you.  I don't usually do a ton of themed nails but I recently got a new stamper and wanted to try it out.  This is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base.  This is an amazing white polish.  It's slightly grayed out so it's not so stark and the formula was outstanding for a white.  Two coats had it almost perfect on all my nails.  If I hadn't been stamping I would have added a third coat to a few nails.  Then I stamped hearts using Zoya Rory and Carly.  They both stamp pretty well, with Carly being a tad better just because it's so much darker.

As you can see I'm not a great stamper.  My pinky nail is a big mess but honestly I love this mani.  It's fun and festive without being crazy.  Mr. MLiP and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day.  In 15 years of being together I think we've gone out once.  Do you have any fun plans to celebrate?

I'd love to see your Valentine's nails.  Drop a picture by my facebook page.  Have a great day!

*I bought these polishes myself with my own money.  I tried to resist the pink Zoyas but their summer collection gets me every time.*

KBShimmer Oh Splat!

Shade

Happy Friday!  Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?  I'm going to try to take my boys mini golfing.  We've missed out the last few weekends due to sickness and freaky cold weather.  Anyway on to why your here.  This is KBShimmer Oh Splat, a white jelly base with multi colored glitter.  I'm a sucker for the white base polishes with glitters in them.  The formula on this one is fantastic.  This is three coats, it was pretty good at two but I wanted the VNL gone.  Plenty of glitter with each coat.  Love!!

So far I've loved every KBShimmer polish I've tried.  Next on my wishlist is Elle.  What's your favorite KBShimmer polish?

Until next time,

Different Dimension Sparkles Like Edward

Sun

Hello!  Did you miss me?  I'm finally back to normal, well normal for me anyway, and should be back to my somewhat regular posting schedule.  I went and saw Breaking Dawn last night with a friend.  Of course I had to wear Different Dimension Sparkles Like Edward.  I love white polishes with glitter in them.  This one is cool because the white base has a subtle pink shimmer to it.  That said the formula on my bottle was pretty bad.  It took three coats to be opaque and not streaky.  By the time I reached the third coat the polish was really thick.  I'm sure some thinner would help but I would have liked to make it through one mani first.  I put one layer of Gelous and then topcoat.  The end result is really pretty but a little thick looking.

Not my best pictures but there you have it.  Have you seen the movie?  I thought it was pretty good considering it was a Twilight movie.  Have a great evening.

*I bought this polish with my very own money.  Ok maybe it was Mr. MLiP's money.*

Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday.  Today I have a polish to show you that you've all seen a ton but that's okay because it's so cool.  I'm a sucker for white polishes like this.  Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker is a white polish with different color and size glitters.  There's red, blue, yellow and some green in there.  It honestly looks just like those huge jawbreakers you can buy at the candy store.  This is three coats of Jawbreaker.  Next time just to speed things up I may do a coat of white first then two of the polish but three coats was still really workable.  My pictures were taken in overcast skies unfortunately. It's normally sunny all the time here but we're having some freak storm and I haven't seen the sun in two days.

I'm sure you all know where to go to buy Pretty & Polished polishes but here's the link to the etsy shop.  I hope you all have a great day!

Zoya Gaia & kkcenterhk Water Decals

Shade

Hey Lacquer Lovers!  Sorry about the mini break in blog posts.  To kick start things tonight I have a manicure that I could wear everyday.  I adore white polishes.  This is three coats of Zoya Gaia.  Gaia is a sheer but build-able white with tons of gold shimmer.  It's soft, delicate and girly.  Hahaha not things I usually go for in a nail color.  I recently got some new water decals from kkcenterhk.com.  I just knew they would be perfect with Gaia.  These decals are super easy to use.  Just cut out the section you want, take off the top plastic then put it in some water.  After that the decal should come right off the backing.  The great thing about water decals is there is wiggle room.  You can slide the decal around until it's where you want it to be.  Dry it off then topcoat.  Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy as my 4 year old would say.

The decals can be found at kkcenterhk.com by clicking here.  The product code is WDBLE317.  If you pick up some decals or any of the other products use code mylifeinpolish to save 10%.

Talk with you soon :)

Birthday Nails

Sun
Happy Thursday!  Yesterday was my birthday.  It was a good day.  I had lunch with my boys and dinner at my mom's with the whole family.  Mr. MLiP even made it back into town early enough to have dinner with us all.

Since I now have so many new Julep polishes I thought I'd try out a few for my birthday nails.  This is two coats of Julep Daphne with Julep Kate on my accent nail.  The formula on Kate was pretty good.  I used two coats but if I wasn't putting glitter on top I would probably have done three.  Then I put one coat of Julep Mila over the whole thing.  I really enjoyed this fun sparkly manicure.

Shade
I know Daphne has some dupish (yep I'm making up works again) tendencies.  However this is my favorite type of color right now and the formula on this one is great.  So I can forgive it.  What is your favorite aqua/teal/turquoise polish right now?

Dollish Polish Expecto Patronum

Good morning everyone!

Today's polish is something kinda fun. I love Harry Potter. If someone did a Harry Potter collection kinda like the Hunger Games one, I would be all over it. So when I came across the Dollish Polish Etsy shop I couldn't resist buying Expecto Patronum. EP is a gorgeous, white jelly polish with micro glitter and teal hex glitter. This is three coats and it looks more opaque in the pictures than real life. Next time I wear this I will probably layer it over white cream. Some nails had much more hex glitter than others, like my thumb, but overall I love this. Check it out and let me know what you think.

So I'm wondering. Which movie would you just freak out about if there was a nail polish collection put out? Have a great day and I'll talk with you soon.

Nicole by OPI It's All About the Glam

sun

So I don't watch the Kardashians or really know much about them but I do know a great nail polish color when I see it. NOPI It's All About the Glam is a shimmery white. I love white nails, especially when they have some shimmer to them. This is four coats and I still have a little VNL that is much more apparent in the pictures than in real life. I think next time I will put a coat or two of plain white polish down first then this one. You can really see the shimmer in the shade pictures. In the sun it just kinda looks like plain white. In the shade you can also see how badly I suck at clean up of shimmery or glittery colors. Honestly I usually just clean off the glitter in the shower.

There is one other color from this collection I'm considering. The black/grey glitter one. Don't know the name. I don't know though. I have several like that already. Did you get any of the Kardashian colors?

Thanks for reading,
Sara

PS* Just wanted to say that I appreciate all the comments left on my blog. For some reason blogger won't let me comment in Firefox or IE. So the only time I can comment on my blog or someone else's is from my phone. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go blind trying to see things on my phone :)

OPI Mani Ways to Help

I wasn't sure if I was even going to post this but I need a recomendation so here I am. This is 2 coats of OPI Mani Ways to Help over 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow. I picked this up because it reminded me of one of my all time favorites, Zoya Ginessa. The problem is Ginessa is opaque in 2 coats and MWTH is very sheer. So I figured I would layer it. So I grabbed Marshmallow, which I had never used and is it's own weird mess, and layered MWTH over it. I'm thinking that maybe the Essie just wasn't a bright enough white. I hated this mani so much and that makes me sad. I want to retry MWTH over a really stark white. So this is where I need your help. What's your favorite white polish that doesn't take a billion coats to be opaque and not streaky? Help me please!

See what I mean? It's like it was to dull or something. Sorry about the glitter around my nails that was left over from my previous mani :)

So what do you thing?
