Pretty & Polished Review

Press Sample

Hi guys!  Today I have two polishes from Pretty & Polished to review for you.  Up first is Contents Under Texture, a sheer pink base loaded with different pink glitters.  On the Pretty & Polished website it says you can build this up in 2-4 coats or layer it.  I went with layering because I wasn't having any luck with building it up.  I put two coats over Zoya Rooney.  This glitter does take a little work because there is so much of it.  Placing it around worked really well on all fingers except my middle finger.  It kind of clumped up and wouldn't move.  I think that was more on me than on the polish.

Next up we have the strongest glow in the dark polish I have ever used.  This is The Glow Must Go On, a sheer pinkish, orangey base with several shapes and sizes of pink glitters.  On the website it says opaque in 2-4 coats.  I ended up layering this over a white polish because at 2 coats it was still super sheer.  This is two coats over white.  I had to work to get this even looking.  The best way I found was to dip the brush in and get the base and smaller glitter and do a layer.  Then I dipped the brush back in and did a second layer.  I got plenty of stars and hearts with the second pass.  Now the best part is the awesome glow in the dark effect.  Seriously you guys I have never been able to get a picture of a gitd polish before.  I got this one and holy moly it's great!

I didn't even have to hold my nails up to the light or anything.  I went outside to take the other pictures then went into a dark bathroom to take the glowing ones.  I scared myself that night when I turned over in my sleep and a flash went by my face.  I was all freaked out until I realized it was my nails haha.

Here's the info you need if you'd like to check out Pretty & Polished for yourself.  While you're there I highly recommend you check out the cuticle oil in the apple smell.  I purchased that myself a while back and seriously it's my favorite cuticle oil right now.  Smells good and works even better.

Sation Feliz Navi-Doll

Hi everyone!  Today I have a mani for you that I'm currently wearing.  Two things about this mani, first it looks better in person and two it needs some underpants.  This is Sation Feliz Navi-Doll, a super pale, almost white, sparkly gray.  It's gorgeous in the bottle and on the nail but it needs something under it.  This is three coats and as you can see I have serious VNL.  My accent nail is Pretty & Polished Sand Art.  I just used the polish brush to lightly put some one near the bottom of my nail and brushed it up towards the top.

These photos were taken in mostly sunny skies.  Not my best mani but oh well.  You take the good with the bad right?  Happy New Year kids!

*Mr. MLiP actually bought this polish for me.  I snuck it on the counter last minute at TJ Maxx when he was paying for something else :) *

Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday.  Today I have a polish to show you that you've all seen a ton but that's okay because it's so cool.  I'm a sucker for white polishes like this.  Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker is a white polish with different color and size glitters.  There's red, blue, yellow and some green in there.  It honestly looks just like those huge jawbreakers you can buy at the candy store.  This is three coats of Jawbreaker.  Next time just to speed things up I may do a coat of white first then two of the polish but three coats was still really workable.  My pictures were taken in overcast skies unfortunately. It's normally sunny all the time here but we're having some freak storm and I haven't seen the sun in two days.

I'm sure you all know where to go to buy Pretty & Polished polishes but here's the link to the etsy shop.  I hope you all have a great day!

Pretty & Polished Sand Art

Today I have an indie polish for you.  I'm sure you've all heard of Pretty & Polished.  I started by using Zoya Dove and OPI No Room for the Blues as my base colors.  My accent nail is on my pointer finger per the request of my 9 year old.  He has decided that all my accents should be on my pointer.  Silly boy :)  Next I layered one coat of Pretty & Polished Sand Art on all my nails.  Sand Art is so cool!  Sand Art is stuffed full of pink, purple, green and blue glitter.

Both pictures are in the sun because the shade shots just didn't do anything for me.  I really love Sand Art and spent lots of time layering it over different things before deciding on this.  It also looked really cool over China Glaze Concrete Catwalk.  I just didn't feel like having my nails that dark today.  I hope you all have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty & Polished Party on My Yacht

Hi Everyone!  Sorry I was gone most of this week but we had family in town.  Today I'm showing you Pretty & Polished Party on My Yacht.  POMY is a milky white polish with several colors of glitter in it.  This is two coats of POMY over two coats of Zoya Purity.  On my accent finger I have cool star water nail decals from KKcenterHK.  Here's a few more pictures.

Giant hand picture in the sun :)

Shade

Sheet of decals.  Each sheet has six rows.

Overall I think this manicure looked better in my head than on my nails but oh well.  I didn't like Party on My Yacht near as much as I thought I would.  Into the swap pile it goes.  The nail decals I absolutely loved!  Although I did try to put them on backwards the first time.  After watching a youtube video I've got it down.  They aren't sticky and can be repositioned if you want.  I have some others to show you soon.  You can check out the decals here.  The lovely people at KKcenterHK have given me a code that will save you 10% on their website.  Enter mylifeinpolish when making a purchase.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Get out and do something fun!

Pretty and Polished Midnight Rider

Good morning everyone!

Today's post is a scheduled one because I will have just had my wisdom teeth out and wasn't sure if I would be up to blogging over the weekend. Midnight Rider is so pretty. The photos show two coats of MR over one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black. The formula is amazing! Some of the bigger polish companies could learn something from Pretty and Polished. The glitter wasn't a pain to get on the nail. It just came out of the bottle and stayed where I put it on my nails. I'm going to layer this over some other colors to see what happens. I will definitely be ordering more polishes soon. Check it out. There are a lot of pictures.

Look at that bottle! Isn't it gorgeous? You should all go order a bottle now! No really, go! Click here to visit the Pretty and Polished Etsy store. I love polish shopping on Etsy. What is your favorite Etsy store?

Have a great day!

Pretty and Polished Martian Salad

Recently I discovered that you could buy nail polish on Etsy. Oh boy! My wallet wishes I had never found this out. My nails, however, think this is amazing. One of my recent purchases was from Pretty and Polished. You can check out her blog here. The first polish I have to show you is Martian Salad. Now normally I'm not super into holos but this one is a gorgeous green and the name just sucked me in. I had to have it. This is three coats of Martian Salad. I think next time I may layer it over a similar green to conserve this beauty. Check it out!

My photo taking skills when it comes to holos are less than stellar but you can see the great holo in the bottle. It looks a lot stronger on my nails than the pictures show. If you are interested in Martian Salad or checking out her other great polishes click here for the Etsy shop. It looks like she should be restocking some colors tonight and the rest later this week.

So I'm curious who your favorite indie polish maker is. Someone on Etsy or somewhere else? I'd love to hear about it so I can check it out.

Have a great day!
