Zoya Amy

Sun

Good afternoon lovlies!  Quick post for you today as I'm busy stressing out over my husbands car not starting yesterday.  This is Zoya Amy from their new summer collection.  This is a great bright orange filled with gold shimmer.  I love a good foil finish.  After glass fleck finishes, foil is my next favorite.  Honestly these are very glass fleck like.  This is two coats of Amy and topcoat.  It has a good formula just like you'd expect from Zoya.

Shade
Amy is bright, colorful and sparkly.  Perfect for summer.  I don't own another polish that looks like this.  China Glaze Riveting is probably the closest.  Are you an orange wearer or is it just not for you?

Have a great day!

Sara

*I'm very proud of the restraint I showed in waiting to pick this up from Zoya's Earth Day sale using Mr. MLiP's money of course.*

D&R Apothecary Strawberry Daiquiri

Hello!  Today for your viewing pleasure I have an indie brand that I just can't resist.  D&R Apothecary makes some of the most amazing, high quality glitter polishes.  At one point D&R polishes were called Hit Polish then she switched the name back to D&R.  Under either name the polishes have always been great.  Now before you start thinking that I got these for review and I'm just saying this, I bought this and a whole bunch of other polishes from this maker myself over the last year or so.  She has amazing sales that I just can't help but throw money at.  Anyway, today I have Strawberry Daiquiri to show you.    This is a pink and gold glitter bomb in a sheer pink base.  I layered one coat over Zoya Gie Gie.  Check out that glitter payoff.  No fishing or placing going on here.

It wasn't cloudy or sunny when I took these photos.  It was somewhere in between.  I'm not usually one for girly pink manis but this one was lovely.  It was just what I needed after wearing all the teal polishes.  Seriously you guys, I have a teal problem.  I suppose that's foder for another post.  If you'd like to check out D&R click here for the etsy shop (there's a sale going on through Fri 5/31) and click here for her facebook page.  I hope you all have a great day.

Until next time...

Sara

*I purchased this polish myself.  This maker's etsy shop sucks all my will power and I'm always ordering something.  I should probably stop looking at it.  Nah...I like my pretty sparkly nails too much.*

Shimmer Polish Sarah

Shade
Happy Sunday folks!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  My oldest son treated us and his Papa to a movie this afternoon.  We went to see Iron Man 3.  It was pretty good considering I haven't seen Iron Man 2 yet.  Plus they showed a trailer for Catching Fire!  Super excited for that one.  Any way tonight I have a mani that I adored in real life but I'm not sure my pictures show it off the best.  I wore this mani to one of my little sister's high school graduation.  It gave me something sparkly to look at while we waited in the sun for over an hour.  This is China Glaze Aquadelic with a quick gradient (sort of) using Shimmer Polish Sarah.  I told you a while back I won a Shimmer giveaway and she sent some others along for review.  This is definitely the one I was most excited for and it didn't let me down at all.

The formula of these glitter bombs is so amazing.  I wish all glitter polishes (indie or big brand) were this amazing.  Another big bonus is all the Shimmer polishes I've tried so far have been simple to remove as well.

I wish you could better see the purple and bigger blue glitters in these photos.  This mani was so much fun to wear and I will definitely be wearing this again.  If you'd like to check out Shimmer for yourself click here to go over to the etsy shop.  Give her a like on facebook here to keep up to date on all the latest Shimmer news.  I hope you all like this as much as I did.  Have a great evening and enjoy your long weekend if you've got it.

*The Shimmer was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are mine.  My opinion is you need to buy this :) *

Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier

Shade

Hey all!  Today's polish is one that I thought for sure I was going to love.  Once I put it on though I had mixed feelings about it.  This is Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier.  What you see here is three coats and topcoat.  It kinda stinks that I still had VNL after three coats.  The VNL was pretty visible in the sun and not too bad inside.  The formula was good and easy to control.  It dried with kinda a satiny finish so it needed a good topcoat to be shiny.

This shows the VNL a bit better
I think I would love this polish if I didn't have the VNL.  Maybe next time I need to layer it over a nude polish or maybe a ridge filler base coat?  Not sure.  It definitely deserves a second chance.  It's funny to me that I thought I'd love this one and only kinda like Pacific Coral (here) but it's totally the other way around.  Does that ever happen to you guys?  Have a great night!

Until next time...

Sara

*I bought this polish myself.  I just can't stay away from Ninja Polish.  I should just have my paycheck direct deposited to them.*
